It’s difficult us not knowing what’s going behind scenes…. Impossible as we’re not in the camp.
That being said, tariq is to lightweight, and I would sell him.
But, if no other senior player fit, no other choice…..

the formation sucked today. as one of the commentators said Brighton were playing with 5 strikers and no midfield. the lineup also adds to the bizarre situation we have where we let Enciso go who CAN play down the middle if needed , DONT recall Barco who would have been a better choice in the middle with Hins playing at the back.

Not sure what the precise translation of this is. But sounds like they don't wanna pay his wages reading between the lines.

(According to Ajax mate anyway!)

Guess Tariq is desperate to get his move to Ajax before the transfer deadline on Monday. The game was already lost, so he wrestled a player to the ground to get sent off. FAB won't be happy so he sanctions Tariq's exit.

Good job Cashin can play left back.

Derby poster on here said he can’t play left back. Out and out CB.

March is the best back-up left back we’ve got, despite his best position being right wing. Every time he’s played there he’s been solid and if I remember correctly, that’s actually where he was playing at City when he did his ACL last year.

Tariq looked like he could be our next world-beater at the end of that first COVID season, but after his hamstring problems his defensive awareness has been an issue (perhaps with his PCR not quite able to compensate anymore). I actually thought he was better at left back than right back until yesterday.

He’s a lovely bloke and he has some strengths, but the reality is he’s not good enough defensively to play full back at this level, and he’s not good enough going forward to play on the wing. A move seems sensible as long as we’ve got the back up already in the squad.

Absolutely this…looks decent in wide midfield and going forward but woeful defending. Often out of position and of course anything in air he has no chance .
The issue here being that we’re crying out for decent defensive full backs in the squad. We only have Velts and Pervis who specialise in those roles and who can actually defend.

Pretty accurate summary and the reality is can we really accommodate such a luxury player who will be bit part? Equally he'll be keen to be a regular starter and of course there is the injury fragility. Shame as always comes across as a nice bloke and a model pro. Sadly if we want to progress there's no room for sentiment.
