An early Evan Dando, Steve Kilbey or David Sylvian.
Not: Evan now.

J. Mascis could fit both for and against. Depends on my mood.

Why have so many people just listed one singer,
Or one good male singer and one good female singer
Or several singers?

Some f***ing thick people on this board.
There, I said it.
Those of us who are on the spectrum are inherently more attuned to reading the finer details of the point of the thread. Those who aren't simply just lazily skim the thread title.

Indeed.

I'll get my coat.
Not my jacket, or Mrs T's coat.
My coat.

Whilst Otis Redding is the greatest voice of all time, with Toots a great second - It has to be Steve Marriott.
Or maybe Bobby Bland.
This is why tags like, greatest of all time, mean nothing.

For me, Toots' voice was my least favourite in Reggae. Too shouty. Felt like he wanted to be a Rock star :lolol:

Sam Cooke, Nat ‘King’ Cole’

Definitely not James Blunt.

Sorry @Harry Wilson's tackle
You can have two you'd like to be. That's fine.
And you have one you'd not like to be.
And I like your choices.

If you'll indulge me....

In the late 60s I'd have loved to have been Steve Winwood.
In the early 70s I'd have loved to have been Paul Rogers. I though he was cool
In the late 70s I'd have loved to have been Iggy Pop.
In the early 80s, I'd have loved to have been David Sylvian
In the mid 80s I'd have loved to have been Blaine Reininger

After that I have been content to be me.

In the late 60s I'd have hated to have been Freddie Garrity.
In the early 70s I'd have hated to have been Les Gray
In the late 70s I'd have hated to have been John Miles
In the early 80s, I'd have hated to have been Jim Dandy Mangrum
In the mid 80s I'd have hated to have been Phil Collins
