He might not want to go to the Arab league, in which case what they offer is irrelevant. We wouldn't (couldn't?) force him to go - but if he wants to go there - or anywhere else, and they're offering £90M, then yes, take it. Every player has a price - and £90M is a fair price for Mitoma.

Doesn't come across as the type to put money before football quality or a challenge but who knows. Be taking the cash but ending a dream.

Sky Sports reporting a new bid incoming as well:

Al Nassr are preparing a new and improved offer for Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma after having a £54m bid rejected.

Time is running out for the Saudi Pro League club to get a deal done, with their transfer window shutting at 8.59pm UK time on Friday.

Brighton rejected Al Nassr's first offer on Thursday and are understood to have no desire to sell the 27-year-old Japan international.

Sky in Italy are reporting that the new Al Nassr offer is worth more than £71m (€85m).

Puts a lot of pressure on them if their transfer window slices shut tomorrow evening.

I think he stays as he doesn't want to play in saudi

But I'm convinced he will go to a top 6 EPL club in the summer for half the money the saudis are offering and we will be able to do nothing about it.

This may be contentious, and I may take some flak for this, but the rampaging Mitoma has been 'found out' a little bit now. Put a lump of a player on him and he's too small - just gets bounced off, or put two players on him to stop all his dribbling trickery. Once you've neutered his demonic dribbling you've snuffed out half his game.

The question is, could we get anyone better for 90m. If the answer is no, I'd gladly keep him. He's a good person and a million miles from a dickhead.

I don’t want to see someone as good as Mitoma go to that f***ing retirement league, the likes of Toney and Duran, sold their souls. Not Karou.
I lost all respect for Ronaldo when he went there.

Pretty much every player in the world can be controlled by devoting TWO players to mark them. If that is their solution, then the player has still made an effective contribution - as that has by default left you with an unmarked player somewhere else.

Which would you rather.

Sell for 80m to Saudi

Or

Sell to one of our rivals for 35m.

It's a no brainer.

And very few players are actually marked by two players. He’s world class. Easily top five winger in world football. If teams left one player on him he’d destroy everyone.

Old git alert,I can remember passing the bucket around at Gillingham to buy rod Thomas so 87 million profit is amazing and will secure the club finances for a v long time.Fantastic player love his play, touch and modesty, will miss seeing him play but the club comes first uta.

And it wouldn’t have happened if our manager didn’t drop the other winger, who would have meant the defenders would be dragged wide due his pace (Minteh), and couldn’t double up. Instead they didn’t have to drop in for Gruda (who will improve with time), who spent the entire 45 minutes running into people and falling over.
