I grew up in North London and most of my mates are season ticket holders at Arsenal. They are annoying as f*** and generally clueless about how football actually works, but they would never ever want anyone to buy any of their players, especially the Saudis.

Despite the volume of shit like the stuff you highlighted, you've got to remember that real fans don't talk like that. These people are interested only from arms length at trades and transfers and have no real connection outside of the dopamine hit Fabrizio personally hands them each time he tweets "Here we go..." . Come mid-February, they'll be back to tweeting about made up rumours for the summer whilst Arsenal flounder again to a second place finish.
I know this, but I repeat... WHAT IS THE POINT?!?

I just cannot fathom why it would deliver a dopamine hit. Utterly, utterly pointless, puerile, pathetic and errrrr prattish? :lolol:

I don’t think the majority of players want to play in Saudi in their prime years even if the salary will be considerably more.

If the offer is increased to nearer £100m that becomes harder for the club to not seriously consider given Mitomas age . However if the player doesn’t want to go then that’s the end of it - he doesn’t go. Especially a player so highly regarded at the club. If the offer was from Real Madrid, possibly a different outcome.

Don't want him to go BUT if £90m offer is made, it would be hard for the club to turn down. We have Osman coming back next season who is left sided and with the cash we could surely strengthen the striking and defensive departments.

Obviously depends on Mitoma himself though. Would he want to go to Saudi, even for all that money?

Who knows.

Yup. Anyone who thinks clubs put £90m on the table only to find out the player was always going to say no are insane. His agent will have been approached with a number that is lifechanging well in advance of receiving a formal bid.
I think there is no way they offer that much money if Mitoma wants to go. We would accept a lot less if Mitoma wanted to leave. That amount of money is intended to try and bully a deal to be made, to get us to try and convince Mitoma to accept the offer

Sorry we should not be considering this under any circumstances at this point in the window. Is that not the obvious answer?
Selling Mitoma, more than the Enciso/Ferguson stuff basically says "We're settling in mid-table" this season. Totally the wrong message to send to the squad and the fans, and I defy any manager to come out and be pleased if it goes ahead.

Big "if", hopefully nonsense. Get this window shut, please

I remember reading an interview with Mitoma somewhere not long after he broke into the team. Unfortunately I can't remember where it was. But in it, he said that he was motivated by trying to become the best player he could possibly be and that meant testing himself against the highest-level opponents possible.

Now, if that was true and not just media guff, then there's no way he'd go there at this stage of his career.

I think we may well lose him in the summer, but if we do, it'll be because a Champions League club has come in for him. That's really the only step-up he has left.

Agred, BUT if someone offered an obscene amount of money like they probably would, you'd have to be pretty nonchalant to not give it a second thought.
