I think he could still decide to go (loan)

He’s effectively reliant on an injury to Welbeck for regular meaningful game time, and there’s a fair argument to be made that he can’t recover his form if he’s not playing.

I would hope he’d see this as a step in his development rather than us giving up on him, he seems a sensible lad.

My suspicion is that as long as Hürzeler has one of Welbeck, Pedro, Rutter for the number 9 position, and still has Gruda and Gomez as additional options for the No 10, we can get through the season.

It's a shame month-long loans aren't a thing anymore. Get him fully fit, then send him off to the top of the Championship for a month to get some goals, then come straight back in.

For who!? Tell us all you know about this 'saga' please.
Well, it's been an ongoing "will he be loaned or won't he" all window, now it seems they're going to talk about it which suggests one of the parties clearly isn't keen on the idea (or at least wants something more out of it), as was said it is seemingly media-driven but we've not exactly seen the club moving to shut them up

Naylor has just reported in the Athletic that we are open to letting him leave in this window on a permanent deal.

I happen to know Mrs F to be was in Madrid a few days ago but don’t know if related.

Surprised to be honest but can’t ignore that he’s never seemed to be strong enough in his hold up play, a key attribute in how he plays.

Just about a mistake I reckon if we do let him go

He seemed strong enough before his injury / illness 'break'. He looks a shadow of his former self physically.

Transfers are getting weirder by the day. I really hope the club aren’t listening to Hurzeler for two reasons. If he excels he will piss off to Bayern or something and it’s a flop half the excellent young talent won’t be here for the next guy.

Maybe it’s recency bias but I can’t l recall many games when he wasn’t bullied with his back to goal, Everton away a few years back maybe, can’t think of many more if im honest. I’ll accept he’s young and was still growing for a lot of this but hes 20 now.

He’s a fantastic finisher and I’d argue we shouldn’t give up on him (yet) but again don’t know what the injury file is like and I suspect we price in the future risk as well

But you wanted them to listen to RDZ who pissed off after less than two seasons and actually chucked it in half way through his second year?

If we’re offered a reasonable amount - £25/£30 millon - I’m all for shifting him and investing the money elsewhere. The drop off in his form has been alarming and I have serious doubts about him getting back to his previous level. He’s looked way off PL standard for a long time.

For a club who work a lot with data, 1 goal in 15 months for a striker who offers nothing else and other stats are poor - this is going to be a real concern.

In truth he has been absolute rubbish, apart from the goal against Wolves, for over year now and still seems to be a perm sick note. I wouldn’t blame the club for offloading him if the fee is right. How much time are they supposed to give a player who looks like a ringer for the player we saw before his injury woes started?

Stop believing the Potter fanatics who come up with this bullshit 🙄
Which part is bullshit?

I don’t see a single NSCer pining for Potter anywhere near as much as you pine for RDZ, not a day goes by when you don’t make your love and regret about his departure very obvious.

Why do they need to listen to Hurzeler, he has frankly been awful for a time. Showing little effort not just for us but his country.

Good luck getting 25/30 million for the lad, the best we can hope for him in his current form is around 15-20 million with add ons and a nice sell on clause is more realistic, potentially reaching 30million in the future, but to think the likes of West Ham are going to spend 30 million on a player who has only scored one goal in practically two seasons is dreamland.

The club have to be seriously questioned over their handling of him since his breakthrough, yes that goes for RDZ as well, its appalling the club will never bring through a player with such natural finishing as Evan Ferguson, and how we've managed to waste that. The best finishers this club have brought through the academy have both been wasted, but yet constant chance after chance was given to striker who couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo.
