I think he could still decide to go (loan)

He’s effectively reliant on an injury to Welbeck for regular meaningful game time, and there’s a fair argument to be made that he can’t recover his form if he’s not playing.

I would hope he’d see this as a step in his development rather than us giving up on him, he seems a sensible lad.

My suspicion is that as long as Hürzeler has one of Welbeck, Pedro, Rutter for the number 9 position, and still has Gruda and Gomez as additional options for the No 10, we can get through the season.

It's a shame month-long loans aren't a thing anymore. Get him fully fit, then send him off to the top of the Championship for a month to get some goals, then come straight back in.

Well, it's been an ongoing "will he be loaned or won't he" all window, now it seems they're going to talk about it which suggests one of the parties clearly isn't keen on the idea (or at least wants something more out of it), as was said it is seemingly media-driven but we've not exactly seen the club moving to shut them up
