Yup. Could have caused £000s damage to your car.A few years ago, I had to come into work due to a power cut because of the storm. There was a trampoline that had jumped the fence from the house opposite and was just sat in one of our parking spaces
Going to be disappointing watching…..40mph winds at 7am dropping to 20mph by 8am and continuing to ease. Manchester live at 10am though…….
I think with Michael Fish, it wasn’t so much that he was wrong, which happens with changes in the wind etc, it was more how he said it in a bit of a condescending way.The Great Storm in 87 was famously mentioned by Michael Fish on his weather forecast.
To be fair to him, it was expected to hit France, not Britain, but the wind veered further north.
Ha Ha! We know you are addicted
You posted exactly that on the ‘Big Jet live’ thread I started last year which I was trying to find earlier and couldn’t - I think there’s been a few over the years that you mentioned - but before my time maybe?
Just to annoy you
Big Jet as usual at Heathrow from 7 am
And Dublin live
Looks as if we are due some bad weather SundayThe red warning is for Ireland and Scotland. Wales has got an amber alert.
England only has a yellow warning for rain, and it’s a bit breezy.
Edit to add. If anyone wants see the difference download the Ventusky App. It’s great for accurate weather.
In the old days they used velco symbols of cloud, sun, rain etc but, they had no symbol for fog other than to spell the word F-O-G in the rough area on the map it was expected. One evening with Fog anticipated the velcro letter " F " fell off the weather map during the broadcast....at the end the presenter, I think it was Fish again said "Sorry about the F in Fog " ! pricelessI think with Michael Fish, it wasn’t so much that he was wrong, which happens with changes in the wind etc, it was more how he said it in a bit of a condescending way.
"And to the lady from Wales who rang to say she'd heard a hurricane was on the way, don't worry there isn't, but it will be extremely windy, particularly across the south"

A lot of fuss about nothing down here in Sussex. Some fairly strong winds. That's it.Not bad at all where we live, 100m from the sea on the West Sussex coast. Even the garden furniture has stayed put. Just a bit breezy.
Depends if we sign anyone pre KO and parade them at half timeIs tomorrow’s game in any danger ?
Sorry mate. At least you can console yourself that it was completely unavoidable - million without electricity etc. Shit but one of those thingsNot one seat on a flight south now planes flying again - full of 24 hrs of stranded rail and plane passengers so that’s me just listed my season ticket and consigned to radio Sussex and refreshing the streams tomorrow. Was really looking forward to first home match of the year for me.
Assuming you live in Cheshire, it was only ever an amber warning, whereas one person in Ireland has been killed and another in Glasgow. It's been windy here, but not the apocalypse it was reportedly going to be.
I love the app you recommended yesterdayAssuming you live in Cheshire, it was only ever an amber warning, whereas one person in Ireland has been killed and another in Glasgow.
