1 Jan: 82.35kg (13st 0lb)
8 Jan: 80.80kg (12st 10lb)
15 Jan: 81.15kg (12st 11lb)
22 Jan: 80.55kg (12st 10lb)

A bit of a plateau and a target of 79.4kg by the end of next week is looking challenging.

But I’m still happy with my overall progress; I’ve lost 6kg since the start of November and am the lightest I’ve been for many, many years!

Seems I'm in good company this week, with a slight increase....hmmmmm.

Day 1; 84.1kgs 13st 3lbs
Day 8; 83.4kgs 13st 2lbs
Day15; 80.9kgs 12st 10lbs
Day22; 81.1kgs 12st 11lbs.

Not too concerned as I lost almost 'too much' last week, so am assuming fluid retention for the difference.

I like my weight starting with 12st something and there is no way I'm giving that up....!!

Good luck everyone, last 9 days of January to go.

Actually started improving things this month, not major but it's a start and all about building momentum;

Jan 1st - 108kgs - 17st 0lbs
Jan 13th - 107.6kgs - 16st 13lbs
Jan 21st - 107.2kgs - 16st 12lbs

Definitely less impressive when put into Stones and Pounds ha. But I've arrested the weight gain and starting to turn a very big heavy ship around...

It is possible due to the unfortunate appointment of Guinness Boy as a moderator, I may get banned from this forum. Should that be the case, I wish you all the best and Coundn,t be Hypia in particular in the encouragement of a healthier lifestyle to us all. Something actually worthwhile.

Echo the sentiments on CBH, and don't want to derail the thread, but hasn't GB been a moderator on here for years?

7lb lost as of this morning. Would like to shift the best part of another stone so will stick to the programme.

Very interesting edition of The Food Programme on Radio 4 yesterday, explaining why exercise is brilliant in so many ways but very little help when relied on as a way of losing weight. Studies show that your body adjusts to consume roughly the same amount of calories each day regardless of whether you’re exercising strenuously or slumped on the sofa.

I’ve definitely found this……..when I was running semi-seriously I didn’t lose weight despite often dropping a weekly mileage of 50+. Since running a lot less, I haven’t gained weight any more than I did then, it’s always spells of bad eating/drinking that pushes me up, the amount of exercise is almost immaterial (often said in running circles that you can’t outrun a bad diet). My weight now is the same as when I was nearing the end of a 6 month programme training for a 100 mile race, running 6 days a week and doing 2 or 3 marathons a month.

Right off to a Burns Night, can I remain off the carbs and booze (Will Power may already have left the building) otherwise my weight is going up big time.
