Bit more to this than the headline. It says “ending diversity”. This is intentionally misleading. What it’s actually ending is governmental and corporate departments specifically set up in recent years to actively promote and enforce policies of positive discrimination.

I’ve long, long been skeptical of positive discrimination policies such as affirmative action.

I’m not defending Trump here or saying he’s doing it for the right reasons, it’s clearly an attempt to discriminate, but I’m not sure they should’ve been playing a game of who can discriminate the best in the first place.
It doesn't say 'ending diversity'.

Did you click on it? It says 'ending diversity' programs'.

Apologies for that. And no I didn’t click on it, because I’ve read the story numerous times elsewhere and pretty fully understand it.

Not obvious to me. I have been free to do what I like as long as I stay within the law. Labour have come in and nothing’s changed.
@Herr Tubthumper was saying that right wing parties advocate freedom but at the same time think they can tell women what to do with their bodies, which is the opposite of freedom.

I am not following what you are implying about yourself (unless you are an American woman, and imagine that being arrested for seeking an abortion is perfectly OK).

And I have no idea what the Labour party has to do with it.

Sorry if I'm not reading between your lines. Alas such lines are often unclear to me.

Just far enough away from LDC
Apologies I just checked x I didn't realise it was on his platform
No problem and it wasn't intended as a dig at you. Trouble is that what they're doing is just so bonkers and worrying that human nature now is to assume it's fake or a misunderstanding rather than them actually showing us who they are in plain sight

There is a big difference between educating people about diversity, and insisting on quotas in employment. I understand that America has been doing positive discrimination (as mocked in South Park by the naming of the black boy 'token') for decades and I agree with your disagreement with it.

However a diversity programme is a process to support people who are different and educate others to facilitate more productive working, and minimise bullying in the workplace. A few little changes in my workplace has meant that I can now do the unwelcome tasks with minimum fuss and stress and at the same time cause colleagues much less stress by my questioning their ambiguity, illogic and general tomfoolery. Get rid of accommodation of diversity and we'd be back where I was a few years ago, getting stressed and depressed, insulting colleagues and being hauled up on disciplinaries.

I think you will find that the new fuckwit president has conflated the two. But just as in the case of his opposition to assault on the police and his pardoning of someone for assaulting a policeman, he doesn't care, and will insist he is doing the will of the people in the name of freedom.

I agree; but I also believe this..... "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." #MayaAngelou | Facebook

This is shooting fish in a barrel. The man is a f***ing MORON.

The thing is, more than 80 million Americans don't care.

I am pretty confident that a majority of Germans were four square behind Hitler for many years
Promise people things and a large section of The People are happy to turn a blind eye to literally anything.
I recon Trump could flop his tiny penis on his desk in front of the cameras, declaring this is why America will be great, and it wouldn't dent his popularity,

You mean “Tolkien” (that was one of the funniest moments in South Park for me).

Was that the name? I never saw it written down.

I see.... "Following the release of "The Big Fix", Tolkien's name was edited in all previously-released material to match the retcon, including subtitles of past episodes. Because "The Big Fix" establishes that Stan and Randy have been unaware of Tolkien's real name up until this point, Tolkien's name is still subtitled as "Token" in their dialogue. Stan and Randy are meant to represent the audience, as the episode contains a scene of a character directly speaking to the audience about Tolkien's real name"

Be more of a tweezering onto the desk than a flop, no? The alleged size of said appendage saying oh so much about his pathetic ‘alpha’ shtick.
