"as long as I stay within the law" That's my point
This,

I know of several people in the US who are concerned about what the change in the definition of gender means for them. How much further does it have to go before they are all of a sudden not living within the law, and how does that effect their freedom?

***Stolen from social media***

First them came for the trans community, and I did speak out because despite being a middle aged, white cis man I am not an utter prick who can see that this is wrong and know how the poem ends.

What a ****.
Yep, the Trump Presidency begins - and will be defined by social media wars against anyone that dare question his hegemony.

We will have run out of epithets before he’s even installed his cabinet.

Pastor Martin Niemöller

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Just far enough away from LDC
Lol dont think that's a real post.
It wasn't a nazi salute. Now it's not a real post.

I'm kind of thinking here that having everything dismissed as fake news is working on some people.

Maybe when he figures out it is real the scales will fall from his eyes and the cognitive dissonance will clear.

Obviously Trump has too many issues to list but one of the most regular to crop up is his unerring ability when ranting about and name calling others to so accurately describe himself and his behaviours in his child like vocabulary 🤡
They call this projection I believe.

I'm not sure, he's got serious issues but I don't think he was actively thinking "I'm going to do a Nazi salute". He was seriously hyped up and waving around like a loon.

I think everyone needs to take a step back from labelling people Nazi or Nazi sympathisers and have a real think about what the Nazis actually were and what they wanted to do. The worst humanity has ever produced, these new people for all their obvious faults are nowhere close to that.

It was ambiguous at best. Musk’s face, to my eye, is not one of ‘giving his heart to the crowds’ as some sources suggest but one of defiance and even aggression.

Not ‘everyone needs to take a step back” - lots of people (including on this thread) have not referred to him as a “nazi” and some of us certainly don’t need to be reminded who the Nazis were!

However, there is no denying that Musk has played a significant role in giving far right extremists a platform to spread their bile. Trump has on numerous occasions (even during his campaign) applauded the white supremacists who stormed the Capital to ‘take back America‘ and even yesterday, when signing pardons for those convicted of sedition and conspiracy against the US, suggested groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers could have a place in politics..

Americans that voted for Trump will no doubt in the not too distant future come to their own eureka moment and like many Brexiteers, come to question the wisdom of their earlier decision.

Bit more to this than the headline. It says “ending diversity”. This is intentionally misleading. What it’s actually ending is governmental and corporate departments specifically set up in recent years to actively promote and enforce policies of positive discrimination.

I’ve long, long been skeptical of positive discrimination policies such as affirmative action.

I’m not defending Trump here or saying he’s doing it for the right reasons, it’s clearly an attempt to discriminate, but I’m not sure they should’ve been playing a game of who can discriminate the best in the first place.
