Just far enough away from LDC
Evening games are a ballache full stop and will be one of many contributing factors to me not renewing in a couple of years time. Means I won't get back until gone midnight, if we have extra time and pens will be even later. I've therefore got to find someone to have the dogs overnight which could be a pisstake seeing I'm going to have to do that for the league game the following week.

We are playing Chelsea, my section will be full of Chelsea. Chelsea and Arsenal are the two worst teams for not caring they are in the home end and the stewards do nothing. Again another reason I won't be renewing.

FA cup has very sadly gone to shit
.

We are playing a team in our division that we are playing the following week.

Football has NEVER been played at 8pm on a Saturday. Don't see why we should start now.

We'll probably get beat.

I'm not really enjoying football at the moment.

In fact about the only positive reason I can think for going is it'll be nice to watch a game without VAR.
Have to agree with a lot of what you say. Bits in bold specifically

I can't imagine Albion playing a home first-team match and me not being there. Only illness and work clashes have kept me away. That said, I live in Brighton and always within walking distance of the Goldstone, Withdean and (just about) the Amex (I don't count Gillingham). Obviously for those relying on public transport it's a whole different situation, especially with the game being live on terrestrial TV.

Couldn't go to either Brentford or Arsenal home games due to illness, so I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms. Looking forward to Everton this week and will go to the FA Cup game just to get my fix.

It's a no from this STH. We play Chelsea twice a season already and it's at an absolutely idiotic time. Might have considered it if the opposition had been an interesting team.

Poll needs more nuance given recent debate/confessions. eg

Season ticket holder (and go to most games) - Going
Season ticket holder (and go to most games) - Not going
Season ticket holder (but don't usually go) - Going
Season ticket holder (but don't usually go) - Not going
etc

Frustrating draw and inconvenient KO for someone who is London based, but this takes precedence over the league game, which happens to be even less convenient to attend anyway as it's both a weeknight and Valentine's Day.

Fingers crossed it'll be me and a bunch of humbled Chelsea fans on the train back up!

Albion have had a few 745 kick offs on Fridays for years - Glenn Murray scored in our first game of our promotion winning season i remember at one such kick off. And surely an evening kick off on a Saturday is more convenient for most than a 745 on a Tuesday or Wednesday where we've had such matches since at least the 70s.
Why is this that much different. ? Is it just that its 8pm not 745pm ? (aside from the understandable risk of pens/extra time - i get that) .
Because many people do other things on a Saturday evening. That's why Saturday matches should kick off at 3pm and no later. Back home at about 6, quick shower and change, jump in a cab for dinner with friends and family.

But most PL games stopped being 3pm on a Saturday nearly 20 years ago and some PL /Div 1 games have been moved for TV to Sundays or different times for nearly 40 years now.

I'll be there. I'll boo on my own if I have to.

Putting aside this is an FA Cup match we're talking about, you're exaggerating with the bolded statement above. Here's the next Saturday's PL Saturday 3pm matches - half the league :
