Gods country fortnightly
Well after all this has happened something good has come out of it. Seeing that Zuckerberg chap with the other toads at the ceremony has made me begin the process of deleting my Facebook account. I'm sure it's headed towards the cesspit. Twitter felt like a liberation, so this should be good. Just need to get the details of folk I want to keep contact with first. It's surprising how many we use FB for the first line of contact.
I dumped Twitter for Bluesky but Meta is a bigger problem. I have closed FB groups, messenger and whats app. Its part of life sadly for many of us

Maybe the best way is to stop them monetising data, a good guide

Disappointing that even Microsoft gave $1m to the inaugural fund. So f**ked up

I got myself off Facebook about 12 years ago now. Absolutely nothing of value to my life was lost.

They used to offer, not sure if they do now, the ability to download all your photos so worth doing that before deleting the account.

You have written this without irony yet you struggle to answer your previous question: Why do lefties always get their knickers in a twist?

Come on man, join the dots! they are not too far apart.
You're the one whose struggling to join the dots. He won a democratic election and now has control over all the levers of power in the USA, he can whatever he wants. I don't agree with everything he believes in but he's prepared to stand up for his country, Starmer's too busy taking the knee to stand up for anything.

I looked at all the personal data FB collected. Quite shocking. I think I mentioned the name of a footballer or film star on here and started getting articles on there about them. The worst was when I was sorting out my Dad's estate and it promoted a group about graveyards. I'm going to get numbers of folk I have engaged with a fair bit and then leave the whole thing. I've not been back n Twitter, so this will be fine.

Just downloading all my pics etc first.

Easy to make a gif out of context. If you watch the speech he puts his hand on his heart and then raises his hand and afterwards says my heart goes out to you.

However, the ridiculous facial expression would suggest he's on a massive wind up and has succeeded.

It was a Nazi salute.

If you don't think it was a Nazi salute, then film yourself doing the exact same thing. Post it online. Put it on LinkedIn and tag your employer. Send it to your mum.

What? You're not willing to do that?

That's because it was a Nazi salute, you know it was a Nazi salute, and you're lying about it.

We're f***ed aren't we. 😞

In his character of Jonathan Pie, Tom Walker nails it yet again. But in truth, he's been saying the same thing for the last 8 years since Clinton described a mass of Trump voters as 'deplorables'. A left liberal elite that lost that election has lost this one too. Could it happen here? It may well be uncomfortable listening to the point where some might either dismiss it simply as part of the Pie schtick or just use simple snobbery by questioning the intelligence of American voters, but that isn't going to be helpful. Pretending an issue doesn't exist has never resolved it. And learning from the mistakes of others is a lot less painful than from one's own.

5:19: "When the left offer no solutions, people will begin to believe the lies of the right."

"What happened? What happened?!? We lost, that's what happened. The left have lost. We've lost the argument. We've lost our relevance. We've lost the plot. The left have forgotten what being left wing is to the point of where we're not even on the left any more. We've handed our natural territory to right wing populists. When I was growing up, being left wing was all about freedom of speech and free expression and bridging the gap between rich and poor. But then the left liberal elites decided en masse to abandon the class struggle and instead alleviated the guilt it felt whenever it avoided eye contact with yet another homeless person by petitioning the local arts centre for gender neutral toilets. The Democratic Party amazed that by abandoning the working classes, the working classes abandoned them.

And look at the Labour Party here. Labour. The clue is in the title. And yet they spent half of last year unable to define what a working person is. No wonder they are about as popular as a cancer diagnosis with many of their natural supporters treating Nigel Farage like the Second Coming. When you concentrate on diversity quotas rather than crippling economic inequality and tokenistic socially progressive sticking plasters while completely ignoring the poverty-stricken, look what happens! American companies abandoning Diversity, Equity and Inclusion wholesale because now we see that the right have won the culture war because the left have done nothing but try and win the culture war for well over a decade (although Trump dancing with the Village People has done more for the gay community than any diversity quota ever could, let's be honest).

But when the left ignore people's genuine concerns over immigration for fear of seeming a bit racist, you get nasty opportunistic populists enacting mass deportations. When the left abandon free speech, the right pick it up and they run with it. And then they own it. And then we get to a point where anyone can say anything about anyone and just label it 'free speech' where defamation laws are ignored by billionaire loud mouths. Free speech innit! And the people at the top can lie and lie and lie. Free speech innit! When the left offer no solutions, people begin to believe the lies of the right."

It obviously was a Nazi salute, but I think this is just more of Musk thinking he is hilarious by trolling everyone and winding up the woke libtards; it’s pathetic.

That's great.

Now you just have to figure out what the 'lefties' are concerned about.

I think you know though ( I joined the dots 🫵).

Judge a man by what he does, not what he says, I've always believed. So far, the orange baboon has withdrawn America from trying to stop, or at least slow down, global warming, he has withdrawn from the World Health Organisation and has released hundreds of violent criminals, many armed with guns, on to the streets of his country.
I rest my case...................................

And it's both sides. Lot of focus on trump pardons on this thread. Unless I'm mistaken Biden just pardoned his whole dodgy family, who have become very rich off government contracts and who also like to dabble in class A's while exploiting women.
His WHOLE family? Even Jill Biden?

Blimey!

Oh sorry, must have misheard, in his speech just after he was made president, when he said he would take back the Panama Canal, presumably the same way his mate is in the east and also rename the Gulf
Agree, it's unbelievable the apologists that are defending trump when in fact they only seem to have cherry picked the bits that they like and ignore the rest. He's already released a load of right wing gun totting nutjobs. He's in the pocket of the richest Nazi that has ever lived and is threatening world peace with expansionist policies. But hey, all that is irrelevant as 'he talks up America'. Saved by God to save America, give me a break. Even if he did believe in that clap trap, I thought one of the principles of Christianity was love thy neighbour (oh, and also don't covet your neighbour's wife!!!)
