I've gone ahead and added a text replace extension to my browser which also changes his name to Nelson - the bully from the Simpsons who just sits at the back of the class pointing and laughing. Seemed appropriate.

Well that's the end of the " American Dream ". looks like joe Biden's pre-emptive pardons were necessary and an indicator of what is to come. All the Jan 6 rioters being pardoned is a devastating blow to democracy and the rule of law. All the fringe nutters can come out of the darkness now and know they are safe with the king nut Job in charge. I pity anyone in law enforcement, the military and the US government who may be given orders that are in conflict with the US constitution and its amendments.
Additionally, its probably going to lead to more international conflict as America, under Trump steps back from international affairs unless it suits his agenda. The Big Man is willing to pick on Panama and Greenland like a playground bully but can't stand up against Putin, Kim Jong Un and XI.
Bye bye planet too as the idiot plans to drill, drill drill despite the obvious data and science. The US could have set the lead in clean energy and its technology but that is gone too in the pursuit of quick cash and populism. The only hope really is for him to meet a sticky end before it all goes down the drain.

I’d say it’s been dead for a while, but best case scenario the US isn’t going improve like it desperately needs to for at least 4 years.
The next hope is the Democrats can come up with something even remotely a step in the right direction in 4 years time. Which is unlikely.

It will probably end like most elections do. You vote based on rhetoric and promises made and end up getting something completely different.

Something I don't quite understand is these Executive orders. If it's such a fabulous democracy how can the president take his own unilateral actions and change some seriously fundamental policies and judicial verdicts at a whim. Obviously not just Trump, Biden and others as well but just seems really strange.

The constitution is designed to make changing it at the whim of the executive, even a powerful one, is essentially impossible.
“The Constitution provides that an amendment may be proposed either by the Congress with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate or by a constitutional convention called for by two-thirds of the State legislatures. None of the 27 amendments to the Constitution have been proposed by constitutional convention. The Congress proposes an amendment in the form of a joint resolution. Since the President does not have a constitutional role in the amendment process, the joint resolution does not go to the White House for signature or approval.”

One thing is for sure, the last few years have exposed the flaws in the worlds greatest democracy. Executive Orders, the judicial panel thing and all the pardons (I thought pardons died out hundreds of years ago.

And it's both sides. Lot of focus on trump pardons on this thread. Unless I'm mistaken Biden just pardoned his whole dodgy family, who have become very rich off government contracts and who also like to dabble in class A's while exploiting women.

Not sure how far back the pardons thing goes.
Seems undemocratic to me.
Easy to make a gif out of context. If you watch the speech he puts his hand on his heart and then raises his hand and afterwards says my heart goes out to you.
However, the ridiculous facial expression would suggest he's on a massive wind up and has succeeded.
One way or another, I really do not reckon he will last the full term.
