Yeah, can't wait!
Oh, and 'drill baby drill' (coming from the most powerful leader in the world). f*** our children's future eh. Lets just relax and enjoy the ride.
Yeah, the climate crisis is f***ing hilarious isn't it @spence
Ah, why wouldn't it surprise me at all that you're a climate science denier?
Christ man how many YouTube rabbit holes do you go down

Does the hope, ambition and better things to come stretch to normal Americans or is it just for his billionaire and tech CEO sycophants?
It didn't take Trump long to make it clear whose interests he only cares about when he referenced the LA fires in his inauguration speech and he made a special mention of" all the "rich and powerful" people who had lost their homes, as if their losses were the only ones that really mattered.

Its no surprise that he thinks like that, but it shows how warped and lacking in self awareness he is that he thinks its OK to say it out loud

although it wouldn't surprise anyone if he did change the constitution.
You have written this without irony yet you struggle to answer your previous question: Why do lefties always get their knickers in a twist?

Come on man, join the dots! they are not too far apart.

True, but here we are, surrounded by people full of faith that he is going to make America great again for the working classes.

Time to invest in snake oil I think.

And yet we elected a government that just talks down the uk, did a ridiculous anti growth budget in completely what they said they would not and left massive swathes of the community feeling utterly depressed and lacking in any positive future I am very lacking in any hope with the shower we have for this country for the next 4.5 years. Growth creators are leaving this country en masse and small and medium size business companies have been utterly battered with tax rises with starmer and reeves. Trump may be bluster but at least he gave a massive rallying call to his country something starmer and his cohorts have abjestly failed to do in 6 months

So vote for the shouty one who says what they’re going to do, but doesn’t do it (40 new hospitals, anyone) or vote for the one who is quietly trying to put things right after 14 years of running the country down through austerity?

No wonder people get it wrong. We’re not voting for X factor.

Were you this upset over the last 14+ years? Which is why things seem so bloody shit? Brexit hammering the economy not ring a bell? No? Thought not. ffs it's 5 years, not just 6months. Admittedly, they have been bloody boring and negative and I qustion their decisions, however, give them time. If it's still shite in 5 years then you may stand on your high horse, not now for god sake.

Tis unfortunate how folk allow themselves to be punch drunk on political rhetoric. I could never find a name for it but started to use the term 'Polidroids' Basically folk who align themselves with a political doctrine that through their loyalty sets aside all reason. It happens on all political 'wings'.

Watching his speech today I could see how easily people who wanted to be led could. But simply auditing it finds many contradictions. The talk of pursuing peace and not getting involved in wars yet at the same time talking of expanding Americas boundaries and reach- which is basically a declaration of empirical expansion. A war doesn't always involve physical violence, it can also involve economical violence too. It looks like there may be much coming.

It may also be that he does achieve some positive things. Even the worst of people can do the best of things. But I sense the world is in for a difficult and unpredictable ride over the next few years. But then again, hasn't it always ?

I was meaning the republican party as a whole although it wouldn't surprise anyone if he did change the constitution.
It will actually be quite interesting to see what happens. My feeling is that people were voting for Trump rather than the Republicans as a whole. He could be a 'success' (whatever guise that might take), but without him to vote for, people might drift away from the republicans?

It will, but I do find it depressing that people are so much louder against Labour when it was pretty damn quiet when the Tories were in power until the last year or so, and they did so much worse.
I think Sunak was decent to be fair but it was a bit of a shit show for many years before
