Towards the end of last season it was looking like one season too far. He’s now playing as well as he ever has. Seems Fab has totally rejuvenated him.

I couldn’t quite figure out what he was doing when he kinda crouched down and frankly it looked not unlike he was about to curl one out. But what the hell, I love it.

I seem to recall he'd come back from a long layoff and was playing with strapping on his leg for several weeks. I just don't think he was fully fit and back up to speed.

I’ve made no secret of my love for Joel Veltman over the years. I’ve been his number one cheerleader from day one, but tonight was probably his best ever performance for us.
Absolutely imperious (at right back!), pocketed the very dangerous Delap, just a step ahead mentally from everything else we’ve got.
A joy to watch him, and absolutely crucial to our chances of success. Need to get the contract situation sorted immediately, I fear for us without him.
Consistently my first name on the team sheet and overall our best and most consistent player, especially since Groß went back home.
