West is BEST
Weren't the Maquis operating mainly in Southern France, a bit far from the D-Day landings. They were a part of the resistance movement but not all of it.
I believe so. But that’s who the SAS went on to assist.

Indeed. The SBS started to come into the game around the German occupied ports of W and SW France and the like around the same time. Mainly sabotage and stuff. The cockleshell heroes were typical of that type of attack (they were essentially commandos but became the SBS). The cockleshells were the subject of a great 1955 film and a recent documentary which I would rate as one the best I've ever seen.

I am sure it has nothing to do with the ample naked shower scenes, or shirtless buff soldiers occasionally changing and showing their firm buttocks to the world.....

This is not a history lesson......
If it meant 15mins peace and quiet I'd give her my porn hub log-in details...

IIRC the aim of the missions was to prevent the Germans reinforcing the beaches by bringing up more troops from further south, a goal which by and large they achieved
