Climate change and it's associated disasters will continue to disproportionately affect the poor, but the better off won't be immune either.

They do not need to know my or your opinion on definition at all, we do not make that decision. I’m just not getting involved in a debate about whether a $300k house owning local business owner qualifies for aid because of guidelines, or whether a celebrity who lost a $4m home but has $6m in the bank but no insurance should receive money from the public/government purse.

I heard an American on the radio, who had her home burnt down. She didn't want to talk about causes because that has become 'political'.
She sounded like she accepts the notion of global warming, but won't mention it for fear of being accused of being political.
That's the Trump effect.
Interesting times ahead.

I salute your compassion and ability to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, globally, I suspect you are in a minority of 1. The rest of the world will be thinking there is no fukken chance that narcissistic bunglekunnt would even contemplate reassessing his position on that.

Some trees have evolved to be fire resistant, coupled with the high winds the fire was moved on by the winds before it had a chance to catch.
Oak, walnut, mahogany are hardwoods so are fire resistant. Poplar, maple, aspen, alder and cherry are also fire resistant. Coniferous or evergreen trees with cones and needles are highly flammable.

It's a federal crime, punishable by up to 12 months in prison to interfere with firefighting efforts on public land and they can impose a civil penalty of $75,000 to the drone pilot.

Meanwhile fossil fuel companies only remain viable because others pay the costs of global warming disasters.
By the same token, on the 6pm news I saw a couple stood surveying the smouldering ruins of what used to be their home. When the news reporter asked what they do now, they simply said, “Rebuild.”
Huge admiration for that mindset to find clarity in a moment of disaster, face down adversity and keep moving forwards.

On C4News tonight, there was a father-in-law and daughter. His house was burnt down, hers wasn't. He was smiling, and said it's only stuff, and the most important thing that people or animals didn't get caught.
So I agree with you while still saying that this is horrendous but it's where we are, and it's why I want energy pylons being built through the eastern spine of the country to get power from where its produced to where its used. Can't see any better alternative I'm afraid.
