Wait.

The fee they are talking about is less than we paid for him?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Now that we're paying so much more for our incomings, this is going to happen from time to time. It is much easier to make a profit on a £1M player than a £30M one! I'm pretty sure there's already some of our young purchases that we've bought have been moved on at a loss. Taylor Richards, Kozlowski, and Michal Karbownik for example.

Moder is similarly likely to leave for as much as we paid or even less. Not doing very well with our Polish signings, are we?

Well yes, but Enciso is in a different universe to Taylor Richards. He's not done well under the new manager, but is obviously going to be a top level player for the rest of his career

Enciso - or not Enciso; we're still going to sell players at a loss some times. As far as Enciso is concerned, if we decide he's not for us, we'll only get more than we paid for him if somebody is willing to pay it.

Enciso??... Ferguson?? .... Wellbeck injury prone, Pedro out,.. I do wonder who is going to pop some goals in for us if these departures happen.

Well it wouldn't be Enciso or Ferguson anyway even if they stayed here going by their form over the last year.

Welbeck, Joao Pedro, Mitoma, Minteh, Rutter, Hinshelwood, Adingra, Baleba, Lamptey and Dunk have all scored more goals for us than those two over the last year as it is so it wouldn't exactly be a loss.

I will be amazed if we sell Ferguson but not at all surprised if we sell Enciso. With Buonanotte who has scored more in last two seasons than Enciso has managed in his career and Osnan to come in as well we don’t need him.

Julio is half a dozen good games and a worldie goal away from being worth top end money again.
Imho, now is not the time to cash in. I’d add Evan to that too.
Yeh, put him in the team for 3 games in a row he'd look like a world beater again. Do that rather than sell for f all

When has he looked a world beater? Maybe the Wolves game? Undoubted potential but those two worldies two seasons ago are doing a hell of a lot of heavy lifting.
Yeah that’s what I thought! He’s never played 3 really good games in a row in his time here so to say he would be a world beater after 3 starts is pushing it a bit I think!

I mean he’s just played two in a row and was pretty shit throughout them and in fact seemed to get worse as they went on!

Maybe it's our new mantra to cut ties quicker and get our initial investment back if there are any doubts.

It’s a strange one fans I know of other clubs can’t believe he doesn’t play every game.
This is Hurzeler all over you can play well and then get dropped for the next game re Lamptey.

I don’t know what you see when you watch Enciso, but it isn’t what I see. I agree there’s definitely some potential there, and I hope he can become a top player, but I’m not seeing that as obvious by any stretch.

He needs to be harder to knock off the ball, a lot better at decision-making, and keep his head cool when he gets in or near the penalty area. 10/10 for natural enthusiasm and effort, but only 4/10 for effectiveness and teamwork.

Sometimes players have an epiphany and it just clicks for them. That doesn’t seem to have happened for Enciso, and he’s had quite a few opportunities. I have to say he’s a player that I wish the best to, I hope he does become a top player, I just don’t know how many more opportunities we can afford to give him. If he’d just learn when to pass the ball, he’d be twice the player he is now.

think there is almost no chance of any other first team incomings. we’ve been here so many times before, where it’s evident we really could do with reinforcements in a particular position and the club have decided they will press on until the summer. if it’s not been preplanned or there is the chance of a bargain (veltman, minteh) they just won’t do it. a january window where most players are overpriced and where the club haven’t foreseen the injury difficulties offers neither of those things
Disagree with this.

This is not just any ‘January window’. It’s the window after we spunked around £205m including making our record signing.

Why did we do that? Because of the transfer market landscape shaped by PSR, no one was really buying in the summer other than promoted clubs and those that cheat the system such as Chelsea.

This ‘landscape’ is still the same in this window! It’s a very different January window to what we’ve seen before. Our squad is bloated with ‘potential talent’ but some areas need urgent addressing.

Our longer term right back situation is unclear with an ageing Veltman and an inform Lamptey possibly leaving in 5 months. We have but two centre backs fit, one of which is a sick note and will surely pull up soon. We currently have no obvious player to take over from Dunk when he hangs up his boots. It would be no surprise if a centre back joins in the next 3 weeks.

And then there is the striker position. Welbeck was having his best season ever but is now injured. Ferguson is meant to be his successor but has been injured or has looked hopelessly out of form. Pedro and Georginio are not natural No.9s and will probably both be injured after the Cup match today (Pedro already is!). We need a new centre forward to take the reliance off Welbz, Ferguson needs to go on loan and find his form elsewhere as we can’t afford to wait for him to click. Again, no surprise if a striker walks in this window, a good one!

Let me go further. I predict we’ll spend more this window than we will in the summer when PSR re-sets and a lot of our rivals are back in the game ready to bid our targets up and out of our range!

So we are going to sign loads of players we don’t need. In positions we’re overstocked in or positions Fab doesn’t use.
When actually we could spend big on Tomori and it would sort most of our problems out.
