crap shots from outside the box like Veltman’s and March
It being a crap shot doesn't make it a bad chance.

Enciso hit the post, we had some good heading opportunities in the first half.

Ayari should have scored from about 12 yards in the second half as well as Veltman and March doing better with their opportunities.

Always think its comes over a bit sad when someone searches back another post history to find something derogatory!
Does it not highlight the person as being reactionary, and therefore bring their judgement into question?

Most of the good fans here have a mental list about who the histrionic posters are, and either block them, laugh at them or try and rationalise with them.

It seems to me that the users who have come back again and again under different usernames are constantly running away from their previous embarrassments. Looking back at a poster’s history can sum up if they either believe what they are saying, or they are a troll, histrionic drama queen, or perhaps have issues relating to mental health.

Yes they are because they were given to someone I know by Paul Barber, something I cross checked with someone else on here who knows someone who got the same targets. While not putting a season by season on it we’re eyeing up a lot more Europe and even the Champions League, and not in a “five seasons time” way.
Which is the low-point of my ambitions  So, you were wrong.... :cheery:

24 shots, how many troubled the keeper? Enciso had more shots in the first 39 minutes than any player has had in an entire PL game this season, and only 1 of them was half decent. Lots of weak headers from tight angles and crap shots from outside the box like Veltman’s and March’s. Don’t let stats fool you into thinking that was in any way a decent performance.
Enciso missed two clear cut chances, the shot against the post and the free header, both of which should have been goals.

Go to love the dreamers we created one decent chance tonight against an injury hit Brentford side.
Interesting dis
Are we not injury hit?

One could also say we got a point with a very young inexperienced squad against a Brentford team who have done well for multiple seasons.

Yep, still seems a bit sad that anyone is that bothered!

Not a fan of the in/out poll as don’t think it’s helpful. I’m struggling to see how we are progressing though and concerned that the young players will stagnate. First half was decent, finishing apart. Second half, lacking cohesion and the subs seem to make things worse. Five forwards in a line, mostly a long way apart, all trying to do their own thing doesn’t feel like a recipe for success. The well-drilled exchanges that created openings seem to disappear for long spells. Hopefully it’s nothing more than a dip in confidence which a couple of wins over Villa and Arsenal will banish forever.

I’m very much for giving manager’s time. Never really got restless even when Potter was drawing so many matches because it seemed obvious players were improving and there was a clear plan.

Currently, I think we’ll do well to finish in the top half. Would genuinely love to be wrong.

When you have an XG of 1.29 from 24 shots you know they weren’t good chances. If you were entertained by tonight’s match then good for you, personally I found it another directionless and unbalanced effort against a team who are absolutely horrific away from home.

I think it’s preferable not to talk reactionary shite though, isn’t it?

I’ve seen posters saying practically outright, and earnestly, “I hope we win because I’m going to overreact if we don’t”.

Surely if a poster knows they’re going to make a prat out of themselves, and damage their reputation and credibility, then just - I don’t know - don’t come on NSC after a bad result.

The vast majority of posters here are adults, people who share our pavements and roads and society, and they’re saying they are physically unable to stop themselves going on the internet and acting ridiculous, even though they knew they’d do it in advance

It is remarkable behaviour

He has been handed an unbalanced squad. A squad which, despite the money spent, has more potential than proven quality. A squad that is far too often, hamstrung by the ridiculous number of injuries. On that basis, I guess he deserves more time.

Equally, I'd not shed a tear if he were to go as there's scant evidence of improvement or implementation of the 'learnings' he talks about. In fact we appear to be regressing.

I'm a bit 'meh' about it all at the moment is the honest truth. Fence for me.

All irrelevant, really. Bloom no doubt trusts 'the process' and won't be pulling the trigger. Potter was never in danger even when the football under him was every bit as wearisome as this.

Yes and no.

Below is our BENCH. It includes four players with Europa League experience, a Polish international and a £40 million signing.

However, we’re missing the versatile Hinshlewood, the experienced Welbeck, the incredibly experienced Milner, Ferdi and the improving Wieffer.

They had eight players out including their best CB, played a winger at left back and lost Mee and their keeper in game.

I am more interested in the idea that there were boos to be heard at the final whistle than the frankly ridiculous notion that Fab should be sacked. Didn't hear any in the WSU where I was.

Directed at players I think. Preceded in the second half by quite a bit of anger all around us against Pedro, Minteh, Enciso, Ayari when they blew half chances or shot wildly into row Z.

I almost blame myself for this. I was really REALLY undecided about Fab until his bold changes turned the game round against Man City. Then we went to Bournemouth and ground out an excellent 2-1 win, at which point I was all in.

Since then it's been quite poor and some of that is on Fab, no doubt. But we've tossed leads away against Leicester, Saints and West Ham, and really I think the players have to take some responsibility for that rather than the manager. That's a distinct lack of character imo.

If just two if those three leads had been maintained, we'd be bang in the mix for 4th or 5th if we're not already.

FFS, next up a poll to sack the manager every time we fail to win a game 5-0.

Yes its no wins in 6, but the last 8 is W2 D4 L 2, but no doubt those who want Fab out, would want W8 D0 L0 from the last 8 games.

People are entitled to have a moan , that doesn`t make them entitled . I would suggest as above that the boos were frustration no more , this was the 6th game on a trot that we should have taken more from .

We had a very good start to the season with the team playing as they were under RDZ , FH admitted he did not want to make changes to the style straight away . If this is his change and style then it is a backwards step , if not then something important is missing .
