I think there's a happy medium to be found somewhere between "clapping politely" and "being an obnoxious c**t"
The problem is that when that particular bar has been reached how much lower will they look to drop it next time , luzzing drinks is unnecessary and annoying but petty compared to other fan bases .

It really is complaining for complaints sake , as above , will we have to sit in our seat and raise our hand if we want to use the loo . It must come down to common sense on both sides or some will simply say shove it i`ll stay at home and watch it on the box .

But also on the same point, people who are just going to act like cocks, are just going to carry on regardless of this message. Just seems like there is a constant lecture from the club to behave, or you will be banned, despite the vast majority doing nothing wrong. A banning procedure, which although sometimes justified, has been challenged multiple times by legal avenues and the football ombudsmen.
The more proper fans the club can ban, the quicker those fans can be replaced with football tourists who will spend stupid amounts of money on over-priced tat in the club shop. It is just part of the commercialisation of the game. If you haven't got a big wedge to spend, you aren't wanted.

"Sit down, shut up".....or get banned. Sorry state of affairs.

I had an aisle seat at Fulham and had no issue standing directly in front of the seat. Our row was full - but there was no need for me to move over to the aisle/steps. I was a few rows behind you - where you were stood in the aisle with a few others.

I was at Anfield too. Again, no problem standing in front of my seat. I’m not in any way small - but never have an issue … unless I’m in a row where 4/5 young lads want to squeeze into 2/3 seats because they didn’t get seats that are together.

The photos I saw of what happened at Fulham looked more than just a bit of fun celebrating our goal. Had the potential for injuries … including older people getting caught up in it. I don’t see the club email as patronising at all. It’s a bit of a warning to those that couldn’t give a toss about others.
See my row was full where my actual seat was so I just hovered at the end as we had all the tickets in the row up to the aisle, as I didn't want to stand in front of someone directly. I agree that up the back it did seem dangerous, but I'm shocked that stand hasn't been made safe standing which makes the whole process of fitting in much easier. I think that about Anfield its not big enough I've sat down at half time and my legs don't fit in the seats. I turned up to Fulham a few years ago and my seat just didn't exist which was annoying. I've just seen this email every single game for years, and I think we all understand it, they should identify who is causing the problems if they want to do something about it.

It’s not “sit down, shut up” though is it. That’s what a number on here are trying to suggest - but it’s simply not true. Jack has acknowledged that what happened at the back of the stand at Fulham was dangerous. The club can’t and shouldn’t ignore that. An email saying “please could we ask everyone to play nicely” isn’t going to make any difference to behaviour. This email has got people talking and thinking about it.

I don't know how you've arrived at : will we have to sit in our seat and raise our hand if we want to use the loo

When all the club have said boils down to this line from their communication: We urge all our fans to behave responsibly when representing Albion at away matches.

They're literally just asking people to be mindful and respectful of others whilst also tacitly reminding people that this sort of shit can get clubs fined.

I'm baffled that anyone has had a reaction to this other than "huh, fair enough".

So one of your mates or some random in your seat then?

If you don’t act like a prick then the email shouldn’t bother you
I don't so the subject of the email doesn't bother me at all, however the underlying tone does bother me, there is an 'or else' and 'nanny's watching' undertone. It's not just the Albion it's becoming everywhere. How about actually policing/stewarding the matches properly and target those who are the actual problem and deal with them, rather than a lazy, cop out 'everyone stays back after school' approach? My guess is that would mean paying more than minimum wage. Someone at BHA has just ticked a box with this email.

You can’t even smash 6 bags and stick a flare up your arse at an England game without someone getting offended these days.

We had 10 tickets in a row, not entirely sure, I couldn't be bothered finding out, just seemed easier, everyone had booked together, my friends to be fair are generally quite tall/larger people. Adding to that with the Premier League there is a lot more seat politics than there has to be sometimes.

Yes you do know how i have arrived at that , take a look at all the other posts on here that say similar , and as i stated common sense is all that is needed , not treating people like naughty children . I think it is easily forgotten just how good the vast majority of Albion fans behave , you only have to read our oppositions forums to see that they consider us a decent lot .

No, I don't.

You've done the classic "oh when will it all end?!" thing when all that was asked was "hey, maybe be cool to each other".

The over-reaction is bonkers

But whatever, I'm done arguing the toss. Life is too short.

Definitely box ticking, but also helps them justify any punishment……’we did warn you…..’

Exactly, the seats at most of these grounds are tiny, there’s no way you can fit everyone in a lot of the time, but if you don’t want to be a dick and stand on someone’s toes or stand in front of them, you naturally end up in the aisle. To suggest anyone who does that is on coke is a load of nonsense.

My experience at Wolves for example was that groups of Albion 25 year olds effectively force you out of your seats (which might have a better view) and they do bunch up in those reclaimed areas at more than the permitted density. For the craic apparently, nsc’ers of all ages laugh about it as the away games way.

You`ve just proved my point , you make your statement as fact and final , then declare "I want to be alone " , being "cool to each other" is not a problem it should be the norm . However being threatened with detention and extra homework is just OTT BS ...OK !

It's ironic that they are trying so hard to improve fan experience and atmosphere and then send condescending and threatening 'we are watching you' emails to fans who pay an awful lot of money attend.
Soon it'll all be prawn sandwiches and Vivaldi...no wonder atmospheres are shit.
