So you have just said you don’t think chucking a pint in the air is a particularly nice thing to do, but you don’t like the tone of @METALMICKY saying sort of the same thing?

Cant Speak Nathan Fillion GIF
How can a supporter have a pint in the stands is what I want to know?

I wouldn't do it, but it doesn't really bother me and I really don't think it needs an email from the club. That okay with you? Nice gif mate x

I think the club email has confused far too many with mentioning the beer throwing. They should have mentioned this is done on the concourse and not in the stands.

@jackalbion Ironic this guy is still acting like he's largely unbothered and above getting annoyed by anything. Yet had a breakdown when he read some words from me that he didn't agree with and subsequently blocked me. Strange fella.

As for the note. Very patronising. There really can't be many fan groups out there that are spoken to and actively watched like ours.
Are you even a Brighton fan if you haven't been put on ignore by Harry ?

It’s one of my favourite gifs, thanks

It would definitely bother me having a pint on my head or decent clothes…….. but then I don’t join in with the teenagers on the concourse jumping up and down with their bodies next to each other, throwing beer with one hand and holding their phone up with the other.
Fine if you can avoid them but not fine if they are in the middle of a packed concourse and you are just trying to get through.
Yes I am much older than a teenager btw :lolol:

Clearly you haven’t been to Anfield or Fulham
I had an aisle seat at Fulham and had no issue standing directly in front of the seat. Our row was full - but there was no need for me to move over to the aisle/steps. I was a few rows behind you - where you were stood in the aisle with a few others.

I was at Anfield too. Again, no problem standing in front of my seat. I’m not in any way small - but never have an issue … unless I’m in a row where 4/5 young lads want to squeeze into 2/3 seats because they didn’t get seats that are together.

The photos I saw of what happened at Fulham looked more than just a bit of fun celebrating our goal. Had the potential for injuries … including older people getting caught up in it. I don’t see the club email as patronising at all. It’s a bit of a warning to those that couldn’t give a toss about others.

There's a lot of people enjoying the blue and white pearl clutching here. HOW VERY DARE THEY. (even though they're right to call it seems to be the consensus)
but tbf Club have been sharing this sort of clumsy "behave yourself or else" stuff for years now.

So what ?

As it’s panto season oh no it isn’t. I got drenched in someone else’s foul cooking lager when we scored at Fulham, seemingly also served up with a delightful side-serving of chav saliva, and yes, I was in my correct seat. My nice winter coat still smells of it.

I mean I know a big day in London is terribly exciting for some people but it’s just f***ing infantile really. And too easy just to blame it all on youngsters.

I've only missed a handful of away games in the last few seasons and I can't remember any beer luzzing, other than at Ajax, which the club twitter showed a video of and celebrated the scenes. Very odd this bit.

They should have majored on people not sitting where they should. Because of the different tiers (their points systems) lots of people buy separately who then try and sit with each other. This leads to either cramped together or on the aisle. So just send an email telling people to sit in their allocated. That would be sufficient surely?

In a pile of football shirts
So they want to put fans in a straight jackets and suck all enjoyment out of watching a game yet players & club moan when there is no atmosphere from the fans
No they don’t.

Those who do it won’t stop doing it because of an email anyway 🤷‍♂️

for what it's worth, my dad was quite badly hurt at an away game when there was a surge forwards after a goal that threw him down several rows, causing him to need hospital treatment, so I can kind of understand the sentiment behind what was emailed to us - Leicester was particularly bad after Minteh had scored tbh and I cant speak for Fulham as I was sat down the front.

I think some of the "outrage" expressed on here is a bit OTT but everyone is entitled to their opinion., The email is certainly "wordy" and a previous sentiment of "don't be a dick" is a perfect summary imho

Terribly written email, but two relevent points.
Sit/stand at the seat on your ticket.
Don’t behave like a dick.
Is that really too much to ask?

They’re not asking us to whisper and clap politely if something exciting happens. They’re not trying to sanitise the atmosphere, but also it’s not the 1970/80s any more.

Players and club staff regularly praise the atmosphere from away support, there’s no need for that to change, coked up and pissed up morons contribute nothing to the atmosphere.
surging forward is part of what makes people love aways, and as for sitting in your seat-ask them to move and they will
