Oh, come on, that didn't happen, surely.

.. it did didn't it ?

I honestly think that the better minded society is going to be set back 50 years if this sort of stuff continues.
Unfortunately, at least according to the boy, they did. I don't think the assembly necessarily got Tate more fans but it certainly made people who hadn't heard of him Tate curious. The kick out 100% did, I know the lad involved.

My 18 year old watches UFC and thinks Farage and Trump are idiots.

What doesn't always help is well meaning liberals. The year 10 and 11 at my son's school before he left for 6th form were given a special assembly on the evils of Andrew Tate. Pretty much every boy came out of that, even if they'd not heard of him before and followed Tate or checked out his content. It had the exact opposite of the desired effect.

Another teacher kicked my son's friend out of class because he referred to a class mate as 'her' and 'you shouldn't assume pronouns'. That teacher immediately earned the nickname 'woke nonsense'.

Schools and colleges need to teach young men, especially working class, how to think for themselves and not what to think.
Yep, teenagers rebel and if you overdo it you end up with the opposite response.

There was a young lad killed in Surrey a few years ago, because he met a man pretending to be another gamer. His mother went round schools telling his story to warn youngsters not to believe people you see online at face value.
Fortunately, it was discussed well in class, and parents were informed so it could be discussed at home.

I’ve read a few of your posts and I find them confusing. I can’t decide if:

a) Reacting to posts that challenge you are exacerbating your neurodiversity in a negative way, OR

b) You’re taking the piss.

This confusion tormented me until I realised that the solution was the same in either case: you shouldn’t post on this thread again.

So I’ve made it so that you cannot.
He's taking the piss. I did some experiments.

And I put him on ignore.

I'm autistic and find him reprehensible, hiding behind a VPN and cosplaying neurodiversity.

A nasty little shit. I predict posting rights withdrawn by the New Year. Hopefully. Your call of course.

I’ve seen this myself recently. Heads/teachers likening any right wing views from lads to terrorism, only ended up engraining the opposition. Teens/20’s are very often reactionary to parents and teachers trying to impose their politics. I saw this myself as senior school late 70’s/early 80’s.

Not content with using his wealth to pollute American politics Musk now looks set to meddle in ours as the likelihood of him donating to Reform is looking increasingly real . I think he's more of a megalomaniac than Trump, if that's possible....

It's a worry, isn't it?

Musk can send absolute bucket loads of cash to Farage and Reform - it won't even be pocket change to him - but it could make a seismic difference come election time here, particularly if the disquiet at the current government remains.

My only sliver of solace is that knowing Farage and his cronies, most of it will be pissed up the wall and redirected into their own coffers and not actullay spent on their campaign.

At 53 Musk is 25 years younger than Trump and nearly 20 years younger than Putin, which means we could potentially see Musk exerting his own malevolent influence on the world for the next 25 years or more, and completely unprecedented in terms of the personal financial resources available to him to do it with.

What happened with the American election has made Musk realise the level of power and influence he can actually wield, and he's enjoying it. Now he's come to that realisation he's going to take it as far as he can and he's now demonstrating he doesn't just want to shape America into his own idealised perverse image, he wants to do it with the rest of the world. This UK/Reform interference is only the beginning, and probably a testing of the water to see how that goes.

This is all new to him too, but he's got plenty of time to find out what he can do, how far he can go, and what he can get away with.

A world shaped by Musk is a dystopian one, and worryingly that's where we might be heading.

His name was Brek Bednar and he went to my kids school. His younger twin brothers were in my son's year. The whole thing was dreadful - his parents were divorced and he was at his dad's house and told him he was going out to meet friends. His dad took him at his word but neither of them regularly checked to see what he was doing online, and to be fair that is the case for an awful lot of parents - even other very middle class parents like them.

Fast forward 9 years and despite the fact that his death haunts the school and leadership, we find ourselves reminding our stroppy twattish 14 year old who now goes to that school exactly WHY we still put controls on his phone and occasionally check it.

It's mad this isn't getting more media coverage.

If this was a picture of a left wing politician cosying up to and currying favour with, say, a Chinese billionaire who owned a globally influential social media platform (TikTok perhaps) it'd be all over the news. And rightly so.

It essentially amounts to foreign interference in our electoral process and the frog faced prick isn't even hiding it.

I know the talk from his mother had a profound effect on my grandson. He was an avid gamer. He’s now 20 and at uni.
Good for you & your wife. Better to be ‘hated’ by your offspring than any harm coming to them.
