We’ve dropped 10 point out of the last 12 against poor sides. What exactly are you holding out for because you must be impressed with something to have so much faith.
I will look at a situation where a manager is 1 point off 6th, having had less than half of a first season in charge, being new to the league and say to myself "is this a situation for a sacking"

I come to the conclusion that the answer is no. It's not even a moment of consideration. It's bonkers.

We are not perfect. We have had struggles. We have had good moments.

Let's say another team in our position sacked their manager. We'd rightly think they are mental.

I get emotions cloud judgement for many and I'm as disappointed about today's result but to even be considering the manager is just truly truly mad. But it's football and the unusual becomes the norm when it comes to logic.

It's also very very odd when people seem offended that others aren't joining them in panicking. If you want to panic then good for you. I can't fathom it and I'm pleased with that. Looks stressful to have such a low threshold.

We haven't managed 1 solid good performance across a whole 95mins all season. That's my main worry.
So imagine the points if they click. Another argument for giving time. We are getting points and are not playing as well as we could.

I'm willing to wait, but I'm not confident Fab is our guy.

De Zerbi gave us fluid, one touch attacking football, with patterns of play which you could watch with confidence. Yes there were flaws (no plan b) but the coaching was clear for all to see.

We don't have any of that at the moment. It's a team of players playing together, vs being a team coached to be better than the sum of it's parts.

I'm not sure yet of what Fab is bringing the team. But he needs time and a chance to show it.
Fab bought some fortuitous results in the first quarter of the season, some shit results in the second, let’s see what third quarter brings eh

I have never been confident in having such a young lad managing a side with so much ambition. I just feel older managers have some great life experience and you need that if you have not already gone stale to take a side to winning many points. Man management is key if you lack some strategy, I am not sure he is in the De Zerbi League.

Defence specialist assistant coach in.
Hmmmmm I’m not sure we need anything more than a coherent defensive strategy… the players are good PL players… the issue isn’t a lack of specialist coaching, the problems are beginning out of possession far higher up the pitch… it’s a glorious horrible mess - when we’re found wanting… by God it’s glaring.

Our last 4 managers have struggled against lower table teams?
I do think there is some arrogance in how we think we will just beat these teams. It seems emphasised under this manager. The basics seem to be ignored in these games. Palace today done all the basics very well. They knew they would get less of the ball but when they did get it they were intelligent and sassy. They made the most of opportunities, set pieces and keeping possession especially when attacking. This is all from the coaching set up and management. Time for Fab to get his act together and realise the importance of being pro active especially with the all important basics. Oh and our set pieces are beyond a joke!

It’s football chat that’s all no one’s panicking or having sleepless nights.

I genuinely don't know how some people get by in life with such immediate jumps to panic/doom and gloom without even considering, you know, patience and calmness. It's so weird.
Can I ask, what players that you see that are improving on what we know they are capable of? I have not seen so many poor touches on the ball for years, you don't all lose your touch, but you can all lose your confidence.

Agree. Enciso looked a world beater at the end of last season and he’s been cast aside this year, why? Dunk is now past it and needs to be dropped. Genuinely baffling what Fab is doing to this team. Spend £200m and go backwards

He didn’t.

He was injured and the end of last season was horrendous anyway.

Apart from that you’re bang on.

Well, most of the people who want to sack him wouldn't want it if they made the puzzle and figured out the very first number TB&PB would call if we would make a manager change mid-season. In such a scenario the club would likely want an unemployed manager with PL experience and a style of football suitable for the club. That list of managers is quite short and comes with a trigger warning.

What’s surprising to me is that St Pauli had such a good defensive record, because we look very shaky defensively.
Compare that to Palace’s defensive shape today which was very compact.
Fabian has a saying ‘defence wins Championship’ which seems to reflect that he understands the importance of defence and yet we only play a single holding midfielder and look very frail out of possession.
He did adapt to the the ripping apart of our high line earlier in the season so I’m interested in seeing how he can now adapt.
In Fab’s defence we have suffered with key players being out recently such as Veltman, Ferdi and Hinshelwood but the pressure is going to build on him if we keep conceding goals like we are.
Boscagli would be a good addition in January if he can pull him in.
Its disappointing to see us going with the man-man oriented defence again when most of our players can't handle it. Van Hecke and Veltman has been doing it since they were kids but for Dunk, Webster and Pervis its like asking Glenn Murray to play false nine.

Boscagli has played in PSV for five years so should be used to it. But then I hope its with some future intention to keep playing this way, because if we want to play a regular zone defence we have plenty of good players able to do that.

It seemed a strange call to employ an inexperienced manger and then spend £200m whilst not backing RDZ at all really after he was the manger who got us the top six finish.

Are people seriously considering Fabian out? The state of some fans. Pathetic.
It's normal to have a rant after getting basically, stuffed by our arch rivals. That 1st half was pathetic by us and although improved after the break we had too much to do. They almost picked us off at will even when we were on top during the 2nd half. Certainly not in the Fabian out camp but whether he can turn our defensive cock ups around only time will tell.
