[Albion] Is Palace the least attractive game of the season?

All things being equal, ie setting aside "awkward" kick-off times / holiday season etc, is Palace the least attractive / least in-demand game of the season?

I ask having checked the ticketing site and, only adding up very roughly, there are in excess of 1,500 tickets available to buy on the ticket exchange.

Is the supposed hassle factor just so great that a load of people just can't be arsed?

Would’ve been junior’s first Palace match and he was open to going whereas in previous years he was definitely not up for it. Heyho - tough winter for me but onwards and upwards

Definitely wouldn’t be put off going to this one by away fans.

I hate games against Palace. Mainly because of the fear that we might not win and having to sit and watch it happen. I suspect a number of others feel the same.

I hate all the extra faff and nonsense around it. The extra police, the one-way systems, the nonsense on trains / stations, the fact they’ll once again find a way to smuggle in pyro while we aren’t allowed bottle tops. That’s before we even get to the result, which usually seems to be disappointing.

A few bell-end Chelsea fans? Whatever. But everything around this game is shite.

I’ve been asked to fly out for work tomorrow at fairly short notice so mine will be going on later, making it 1501.

I can’t lie, I’m gutted and relieved in equal measure. It manages to be my favourite and least favourite game of the season equally somehow, which I know sounds mental but perhaps understandable too.

I have been a supporter since before the infamous Cup match against Palace in the 1970s and have attended many games between us over the past 40 years.

was for me the end of any friendly rivalry and the whole thing changed from intense sporting competition (great) to war (toxic)... both on and off the pitch. Horrible.

I hate Palace games because the drunken aggression is still there, and some from our own fans to each other.
Sorry, I know it’s old age, but I can’t cope with it, so have put our tickets on the exchange, which have already sold. I can watch at home, on the tv, behind a cushion, and not get barged or sworn at.
I also don’t get too cold, having to take painkillers for my arthritis.
I‘m not looking for sympathy, just being realistic.

I survived the 0-5 away. But the home match when (I suspect Murray scored and) they beat us, and people in West Upper were having meltdonws, screaming at the referee and the Palarse players like Violet Elizabeth Bott, was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

It's a good one (not a great one, but a good one) to win, but the worst one to lose (at home). Not for the disappointment but for the reaction of those around me.

Give it a couple of years, with my back and knee getting less and less accommodating, I'll be doing the same :thumbsup:

Nothing can be worse than that play-off semi-final. We’ve already been there.

One of the few upsides of the pandemic was we didn’t have to sit through the lockdown game where we absolutely battered them and they won it with basically the last kick

With my anxiety and depression, plus a very stressful time of year as it is, I can't watch it. Football already makes things harder for me, but the stress this game gives me even the day before, I cannot watch the game and have all that as well.

Last year’s home match was one of the great Amex matches.

A 4-1 thrashing and amazing atmosphere.

Those who were there will never forget the whole stadium joining in with “you’re f***ing shit” which lasted ages.

I’m definitely not missing the chance of another day like that.

In a way I’m glad others don’t agree as I bought two great seats on the exchange.
