I was caught up in that outside the east in 2022 with my kids, it was no laughing matter, that was caused by the police blocking the exit past the NE corner towards the trains and idiot stewards allowing fans to exit and turn towards that corner, which is exactly what the fanzone is going to do.

The fanzone is going to cause a LOT of trouble along with creating this ridiculous one way system , I am one of hundreds at each game that have trouble walking very far these days and am going to be walking far enough on match day without playing some weird version of Ring O Ring of Roses round The Amex to get a train .

Personally i don`t care how long they keep them back - as long as it takes to clear the home fans , if they bloody well behaved they could enjoy a beer with us afterwards like all sensible fans do , not that i expect a conga line like with the Naaarrrch lads

I'm fairly sure we exited as normal from the NW shelf at the last Palace game? :shrug:

The fanzone is going to cause a LOT of trouble along with the one way system , like hundreds of others every matchday i have problems walking these days , so playing some kind of weird version of Ring O Round the Roses round The Amex every match day is not my idea of fun .

As for the afflicted they can wait as long as it takes to clear the home supporters , if they behaved like normal people they could enjoy a pint with us after the game , not that i expect a conga line like with the Naaarrrwwch lads :D

Most of us just want to get home and out of the elements as quick as possible. I have no desire to fight a Palace fan.

Very much this. @Milano has clearly taken leave of his senses - holding back 28,000 fans to release 3,000 goons first ? What buffoonery is this ? Has this EVER happened in the history of football ?

I've been to every BHA v CPFC2010 game at the Amex (WSU), and can comprehensively state that, contrary to the posters statement, I have NEVER been held back after the game. Not once. Not even for 5 minutes.

What gives ?

My understanding of the crush that happened last time:

Those Brighton fans in the South-West Stand, West Stand Upper, West Stand Lower and North Stand who needed to get to the Park & Ride and Coach Park were directed clockwise past the North Stand and East Stand exits.

Meanwhile those Brighton fans exiting the East Upper, East Lower and North Stand who needed to get to the station or Bridge Car Park were moving in an anti-clockwise direction.

The result being that two very large groups of people couldn't pass each other in the area outside the North Stand exit and Ticket office area causing a crush. (I'm 16 stone, 6 foot tall and was worried myself)

Since that time to pinch point has been narrowed due to the construction of the fan zone which will increase any potential crush at this pre-identified stress point.

It seems the obvious solution is to keep the Palace fans inside the ground after the game and let the Brighton fans in the South-West, West Lower and West Upper make their way to the coach park in the normal anti-clockwise direction past the South Stand.

If there are any injuries, the club can't say they haven't been made aware in advance.

Agreed its not like the away fans will even see this happening and it moves the home fans along much quicker overall. I believe the difficulty is fans don't wear scarves and colours and you cant easily see who is who so because some of our fans will linger or take longer leaving for whatever reason, the police want to keep fans separated, BUT the simple answer is they know where the CP fans are - they are all contained so just kettle them outta the away end. Simples!

I see im not the only one thinking the fan zone perhaps isnt in the best place and actually could add to causing a crush. The other thing re the one way system is how well is it communicated and understood

We should build a large underground sewer to and from the away end and once a season flush it out with the Palace effluent ro ensure all the rats and turds are cleaned away, they'll like that.

Not when you've got half the stadium trying to shuttle through an area that's now about one-third of the width it used to be, and it wasn't comfortable then.

For domestic games, although Palace are penned in, they re actually allowed outside of the stadium behind the barriers, whereas European games when the doors remained shut for 30 mins after full time

I don’t know why there’s a variance, the poor loves human rights are probably at risk
