Stumbled across this beauty after hearing Sir Paul's kind words.

Really nice, folky stuff with a lovely fresh voice.

In a Mojo feature entitled “The Best Thing I’ve Heard All Year”, Weller says: “Amelia Coburn is another with a great voice. Her album, Between The Moon and the Milkman, is folky, with great tunes and playing: she plays ukulele, baritone ukulele and stick dulcimer and she gets all these amazing and really different sounds out of them.”

Handful of Snowdrops final album, Blanc. They only made 200 copies and they have all gone. Luckily I bought all the EPs that feed it, but there is bonus stuff now out of my reach.

One of the great overlooked bands. From Quebec. Five albums over a 40 year period, getting better and better. So sad they have no audience, and have packed it in now.

I hadn’t got round to listening to The Cure’s new album until today - I wanted to give it my undivided attention.

I have played it through five times so far - it’s magnificent, isn’t it? Incredible that they can produce this level over 40 years after they started, and they were brilliant then.

Meanwhile, Primal Scream also released a new album this week. I have always been a fan, and stuck up for them when many were criticising their output.

But this…is awful. No tunes, Bobby’s voice has deteriorated, no…oomph. A huge disappointment.
This album is an absolute masterpiece. Alone and End Song are both absolutely stunning in particular

Small Changes by Kiwanuka is predictably good. Only heard it a few times, so not sure how good it is but early impression is that it's not quite up to the standard of the previous two -- but that's a very high standard.

@HT: been listening to the new GYBE of late, and really enjoying it, more so with each listen

Recently discovered Manning Fireworks by M J Lenderman. It's stunning. Slacker country rock. Up there in AotY territory

Agreed, it's a very good album but it lacks the variety or stand out bits of the last two
