Eric, please keep us in touch with developments. There's nothing better than watching a house of
cards fall apart when you know it's going to really hurt (in this case that b*stard P****n).
I need to see and understand more trades, but what I have seen so far, is coordinated trades to counteract interventions by the central bank of Russia to prop up the ruble. Any injection of cash by the central bank, seems to be matched by a counter trade to produce commensurate downward pressure on the ruble.

I just don't know what the volumes are. Or what they would need to be.

But I have a suspicion that the US is using its economic might, to bring down the ruble, and therefore Russia.

Usual caveat - I could be wrong.

Half joking. I'm not talking about the end of the war. Just the ruble.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. The ruble will still be with us for some time. Maybe it'll just be printable Monopoly money for Putin to pay soldiers though.

108.7.

The Americans aren't even online yet.
If only the message could get out in Russia that the ruble is collapsing and you're gonna lose all your money.

Cue: panic withdrawals, run on banks!

It's the sort of stuff Russia do in West non stop, try and widen social cracks with disinfo, like in Southport or bed bugs in Paris etc.

We really should find ways to similarly create cracks or cause panic in Russian population.

Xe.com now showing it at 106.5. This time last year, the rouble was bumping along at around 90. So in 12 months, it's lost 17% of it's value (to be generous). This bakes in that level of inflation for pretty much any imported product or commodity (as it's lost similar to the yuan). I wonder when the Central Bank will have to hike interest rates again...

Absolutely. 100%.

One day, (not today), I intend to go through that article and compile a list of what Russia does in terms of disinformation. Its really quite extraordinary. Malign doesn't begin to describe it.

When the market opened this morning, it spiked up from the overnight close of 105.5 to 108.7.

I have often been sat watching as our stock market opens at 8am. There's always a flurry of activity and then it quickly calms down. These are the automated trades from overnight being executed.

So when I said '108.7. The Americans are not even online yet', I may have misled you a bit.

But it doesn't change the fact that those trades took the rate down by 3.2 Rubles.

I can't do it. I ate all my popcorn last night. I promised them I wouldn't get excited again today.
Your popcorn stocks have tanked almost as fast as the ruble
