This would be interesting. A friend visited there (Greek side) last winter for two months and confirmed...loads of monied Russians there.

There are loads of Russians in all sorts of places. Including in Torrevieja, Spain. You hear Russian language there all the time.

So the story goes, she wanted to resign when the war broke out. But she wasn't allowed to. Putin wouldn't accept her resignation.

Olga Skorobogatova, First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia, will leave her post on December 2, 2024. This is stated in the press service of the Central Bank.
The Chairman of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, quoted in the message, called O.Skorobogatova one of the main architects of many key innovative projects in the financial market in Russia.
"Her strategic vision and ability to implement complex technological solutions have allowed us to create an advanced payment infrastructure in Russia, which we can rightfully be proud of. The real value of this infrastructure for the country was manifested in 2022. Many convenient services, which are used by tens of millions of people every day, appeared largely thanks to Olga Nikolaevna, her determination, dedication and professionalism," E.Nabiullina stressed.
O.Skorobogatova has been Deputy chairman of the Central Bank since 2014, and since September 2017 - First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia.

When we plan a family holiday, one of our considerations is...might there be many Russians there? My wife would really rather not hear the language.

I've been to Crete, Cyprus and The Canaries this year. Didn't notice any Russians in Fuerteventura so maybe aim that way.

A lot of restaurant menus in Cyprus are in Greek, English and Russian - seems to be a nice holiday home for them and more: allegedly an easier place to set up companies where ownership and source of funds isn’t always transparent (though you could probably say the same about the UK).

Likewise. Monied Russian tourists are amongst the most foul, obnoxious, rude, toxic specimens you could ever encounter.
