If crispies is still about and he is sat central in the singing section then yeah the atmosphere may improve if he does his rap!

Yes, safe-standing does have allocated seats to stand in front of.
The free-flow or the superior terrace is still a long way off.
This is a positive step though so well done to everyone who responded to the survey and the club for listening at last.

Indeed I expect it will be rolled out to entre North stand except the North family section shelves.

That’s a spot of luck. I like largely to sit and we’re literally just outside the proposed safe standing rows. It’ll be interesting to see if it does enhance the noise.

With the club deciding to only convert part of the NS at this stage, is it possible that it’s a kind of advanced warning to others in that stand? If folk who have NS tickets but prefer to sit maybe this is to make them think uh oh, it’s in its way and they make a decision to move seats rather than the club installing it widespread and creating a relocation nightmare.

I understand the argument 'people stand anyway' but I think it will make more of a difference than people think.
I'm an advocate of the whole north being converted over the next couple of seasons, it's around 10% of the home crowd and probably reflects the numbers of fans who would prefer to stand all game. If you want to sit but also sing head to the south

I’m really looking forward to having a seated and signing south stand full of Albion fans once the away fans get the boot into the corner.
So I am in the NS (lower rows) - as a tall person, I am always mindful of the people behind me not being able to see if I stand. Also, I am not able to stand for long periods, so this solution suits me perfectly as I am not opposed to safe standing at all.

As others have said, this will make almost zero difference to the atmosphere generated by the people already standing and spread out across the width of the NS back rows. The only possible impact on atmosphere is a negative one if it normalises more sitting elsewhere in NS.
Complete waste of money if it doesn't go further. Grouping together those who create atmosphere in central BLOCKS of NS (and South Stand) is what will make a difference.

Brilliant and overdue. Now let's get it extended via negotiation between the club and (hint to the new generation) a North Stand supporters' group which has nothing to do with the rubber stamp.
