Bristol City. Have a reasonable ex big club claim, a ground with PL capacity, and, far more importantly, would be close for me. Last visit was the Sidwell wonder goal.

Then Cardiff or Swansea or Plymouth. Bristol Rovers and Exeter would be brilliant but probably wouldn’t get a ticket.

Of those vaguely in the mix it'd be Bristol C and Milwall, not least for variety. City because it's somewhere I've always liked visiting, and the west country has been woefully underrepresented at the highest level. Milwall for the sheer unbridled panic it would cause.

From the realistic candidates for next season.

  • Sunderland would be good - but lets keep the Northern away days to a minimum.
  • Leeds/Sheffield Utd/Burnley has been done to death, over recent seasons, so don't want to see them back for a while.
  • Middlesbrough - meh
  • West Brom - wouldn't mind it
  • Watford - meh
  • Millwall - Local for me, so yes.


So Sunderland, West Brom, Millwall for me.

AFC Wimbledon. Their phoenix from the ashes story has fizzled out so much in the last decade or so... but it would be great to see them finish it off one day.

Also, Wrexham. I know this is unpopular amongst lower division fans, but I'm kind of enjoying their hollywood rise up the divisions. Beside, BHAFC were good friends with them prior to all that.

Get rid of any club over 200 miles that we play away either mid week or late/early kick off.
Replace them with clubs under 50 miles (except Crawley).
In truth, Coventry (new ground), any Sheffield (drinking weekend) & Burton (more drinking).

My ideal three to come up would be

Cov

Beyond that, probably QPR and Oxford United.

As a one-off, Celtic and Rangers could be invited to take 2 of the 3 promotion places to The Premier League. But would they dare to take them. Would continuing as big fish in a little pond plus Champions League football always be their preference.

Having been to the Hawthorns for a cup game a few years ago, I'd quite happily never go there ever again.

In fact, I'd quite happily see it bulldozed and replaced with a nuclear waste storage facility.

You don't think ticking off a new ground is a valid reason? There are a lot of people looking to do the 92

Having spent two weekends around Middlesbrough this year, I'd point out that the countryside around there is spectacular. It's possibly the best ground in the country for a walking weekend
