You said that you watched his interviews and behaviors yet couldn't see anything resembling the hissy fit that so many on this thread have been accusing him of. This is because, unlike others on here, you haven't added your own warped interpretation of events.

Sorry you’ve still lost me. I heard him interviewed on 5 Live when I was returning from the game. The bus was noisy but he sounded quite self-effacing and emotional, as well he might after that game. Maybe other people are talking about other interviews he gave?
Not sure about this “warped interpretation” stuff but hey-ho.

The trouble is, there is an element of truth in that statement you contest. I've heard Pep interviewed and I admired him for it, but he stated that a real challenge is managing a team from the lower leagues with few resources. Yes he's a great manager but when you are decent but have the best setup (cheating aside city are very well run) and manpower and opportunities, then it is probably more easy to achieve success than to fail.That's right these clubs appoint him and pay him a shit-ton of money because he's no better than the average armchair manager, heck anybody could do the job.

They are facts though. He’s never managed a team trying to get promotion on a low budget, or a team fighting relegation on no budget.Not getting angry, just treating your tripe with the respect it deserves
He’s been given a job with the best team in the world then beggared off, then a job with the best team in Germany and won beggar all, then a job with the richest club in the World
Which bit of that is tripe?
Plus he’s a tosser demonstrated when he lambasted our young centre back for two minutes because he couldn’t manage his billionaires to win against a team like Brighton

Except I would say he is THE greatest manager/coach of all time.
Pep actually started his coaching career in Barca B in Tercera (Spanish 4th tier). He promoted a team that just got relegated a season before and clearly did well enough that Laporta (with Johan Cruyff in his ear as well) gave him the first team job ahead of Mourinho who was also strongly considered and probably the best manager in Europe at that time alongside SAF and Wenger.
What people also don't know (or forget) is that Barca team Pep took over finished third 18 points behind RM and 10 points after that great Pellegrini's Villarreal side in Rijkaard's last season. So he didn't walk into an easy situation, far from that.
One of the first things Pep did is show the doors to former stars like Ronaldinho*, Deco and Eto'o** and gave the keys of the team to homegrown players. So while that team had very good players it's Pep who turned them into arguably the greatest team ever. Pep's Barca is the best team I've seen but ofc I'm biased and not old enough to follow some of the great teams of the past regularly.
Xavi and Iniesta "couldn't play together" before Pep and it was he who made them Xaviesta so nowadays people can't think of one of them without also thinking about the other. He revolutionised football playing Messi as a false 9. He promoted Busquets (who made Yaya Toure expendable so he was eventually sold to City) and Pedro Rodriguez whom he both coached in the B team. And made some smart signings like Dani Alves and Seydou Keita (both from Sevilla) and brought back Pique from United.
Would Mou (or another manager) win some trophies with that team? Yes. But would he have the same impact not just on Barca but on world football in general than Pep had with that team? I just don't see it.
* Ronaldinho (still one of my favorite players but he could have done so much more in his career) spent more time in night clubs than on training ground so to protect Messi learning bad habits from him R10 had to leave despite them having great chemistry on an off the pitch
** Sammy in the end stayed for another season and was big part of a sextuple winning team before that swap deal with Ibra send him to Inter. For me still the biggest error Pep made in his career and up to this day I believe we would won three consecutive CLs had we kept Eto'o.
As for Pep's Bayern stint I also don't think it was as much a given to him as people think. Nowadays Bayern is seen as a serial Bundesliga winner (which they were until last year) but at the time Pep signed a pre-contract with Bayern in January 2013 it was actually Klopp's Dortmund who won BL in previous two years but then Heynckes turned the things around for them and won the treble. How do you as a new manager improve a team that has just won everything? It's impossible. IIRC most Bayern fans were unhappy at that time and wanted Heynckess to stay but ofc contracts were already signed and Pep was officially announced as a new manager so there was no going back.
As for his time at City I will just leave this here. Yes, they spent a lot but so did other teams and besides Liverpool (who also had great manager) they have nowhere near as much to show for (on a side note I don't know why Tottenham is still considered a big 6 when they've not won anything in decades).
