If we beat them I’m full of praise. If they do us I have a hissy fit. Same as before. Haarland was a dick to VHecke - mental Pep got the hump. Sore looooooser.

It was on Sky and as I said it wasn’t very much. In fact he barely mentioned us but he definitely said we are a good club. In fact, I wish i had never mentioned it! :ROFLMAO:
Yeah, I saw the comments after I posted. The chat on 5Live was just weird. Banging on about injury and how they are tired, etc...

That’s because he’s a winner, and winners HATE to lose. A top, top coach.

He's like Klopp was.

They used to luxuriate in the victory after they'd turned us over saying how exciting and plucky we were, but as soon as we turned them over the prickly side came through.
I don’t think you can compare the two. Klopp has said a lot of good things about us.

Did you see his trousers? I thought he was supposed to be a sartorial guide. They were somewhere between a clowns trousers and a 1990s physics teacher. He's also gone from those tight tops and gun show, to.baggy cardies and beer belly.
Harsh. It happens to the best of us.

So from what he has said about the incident, he was basically saying you can't expect to be tugging at someone all game and have them not respond, better that you own how you have annoyed him and stand up rather than get pissed off when the response comes. Which to me is reasonable advice considering both players were only a small amount of escalation from being sent off. He ended it with a very warm and long handshake, which unlike others I do not see as passive-aggressive in any way. As to JP's reaction later on, who knows, English is neither of their first language and a lot of nuance could easily have been lost.

"When asked about the post-match confrontation with Van Hecke, Guardiola told reporters: "That he [Van Hecke] was strong with Erling and when Erling then stands up, you have to stand up, he cannot go to the grass. Stay strong, no? You pull him all the game then after the fight you stay there. But he played a really good game and congratulations to Brighton."
Despite the criticism, Guardiola hailed Van Hecke for his intensity throughout the 90 minutes as he had the difficult task of keeping a check on Haaland.
“Really good. How he linked inside. The players really stepped up a lot with the short passes," he said. "All the steps they can do. There are many good things with this club {Brighton]. Of course Fabian has added his own things. How he [Van Hecke] linked inside he was aggressive, It was very, very good.”

So to all those bitching about Pep, betting that he did not praise The Albion or Fab, and had nothing good to say about how JP controlled Haaland, I found this info in about 5 seconds

He’s never had to manage a club that hasn’t had billions at his disposal (or cheated)
Put him in charge at Colchester (for example) and see how he gets on.
Never really tested as a manager.

My Granny could have won everything at Barcelona and City.

And he didn’t win everything at Bayern

Stupid comment from pep though. It's called gamesmanship you Muppet. It was something like the 94th minute of course he should go down and stay down. It's taken us years to learn this side of the game in the EPL. Potter was hopeless at it.

Aside from that I don't understand what 'linked inside' means?

He was a lot more gracious in defeat this time around though Vs when potter beat him. Which is a shame ;)

Nonsense. He was telling JP that he was crying. You can see him saying "you played a good game. All I'm saying is..." Followed by the most passive aggressive handshake he could give. He's a total knob when he loses.

Mourinho. Klopp. Ferguson. Guardiola. These guys aren’t normal. They have a pathological obsession with winning and their serotonin levels dip alarmingly when they don’t. Smiley and charismatic when things go their way (ok, maybe not Fergie) but pretty foul when they don’t.

Watched his post match interview. Completely gracious and complimentary as usual. Even his "argument" with JpvH was polite "I said you played a good game but ..."

I enjoyed that win so much for what we did without needing to find some additional angle against one of the greatest managers of all time.

Stay humble eh.

The irony of Pep telling another team's players to stay on their feet. Penfold, without the glasses and charm.
