Dog Race outperformed all other acts last night. I’m sure people will be comparing them to Dry Cleaning based on the slightly hinged delivery from the female vocalist but they really were fantastic and one to watch.
5 hours is a long time to stand in one venue but last night was an exceptionally strong line up all round. I don’t know much about tonight’s acts so going to swerve it and save myself for the weekend.
Same regarding just doing Tues/Fri/Sat.

Also agreed about Dog Race - absolutely superb last night. ‘The Leader’ is a banger of a tune. That said, I think the band name could be upgraded (plus will people confuse with Fat Dog?)….

Might work for them, especially as we have Goatgirl, Our Girl, Girl Ray, Lambrini Girls, Girl Band and many more.

Thanks. Lime Garden already on the list. The other 2 sadly clash with Kneecap and Snapped Ankles.
Snapped Ankles are great fun.

I shall be seeing I Like Trains on Valentine's Day.
I absolutely love them - but I hope your partner does too, as they can be an acquired taste!

Saw Slow Fiction at Omera Bar in London on Tues. They are back over here from New York after playing Great Escape and the Windmill in May.

Absolutely superb - female-fronted, Strokes-y riffs. Thrilling band. Highly recommended if you are doing Mutations (they are playing tomorrow) or Pitchfork in London. They're also at Moth Club next week and supporting English Teacher at Koko.

Five gigs this month. Barry Can't Swim last week which was actually pretty crap.

Freak Slug tomorrow, Khruangbin and Fatboy Slim in a couple of week and Palace (yuk) at the end of the month.

I saw the buzzcocks on Sunday and the two boys from Gomez in Monday.

Both were great.

What was the issue? Me and the missus saw him a few weeks ago. She wasn’t keen but I enjoyed it.

Thanks Kevo. Just looked them up and they clash with Alien Chicks. Might have to toss a coin on this one and see where it takes me.

Have you seen Alien Chicks? They are OK, quite good fun. Slow Fiction, on the other hand...

Not seen either. I heard of Alien Chicks, had a listen and thought they sounded good. Slow Fiction are at Revenge which is not purpose built for bands and pus me off slightly.

Got Sepultura farewell tour with Jinjer and Orbit Culture on Tuesday followed by Sleep Token supported by Bilmuri at the end of the month.

Currently got Green Lung and Knocked Loose booked for next year along with Bloodstock 2025 which has a quite frankly mental lineup.

Agree that Alien Chicks sound worth seeing. The crossover is 10 minutes at the end of them - if they are not holding our attention we’ll head over for the start of Slow Fiction.

Heartworms seem to have disappeared from Saturday’s schedule at Chalk, which is a shame.

Bit gutted about Heartworms. Was really looking to seeing her live again before she releases her debut album. I’ve found last minute cancellations a theme at Mutations over the last few years (Wunderhorse and a few others I can’t remember off the top of my head).

Thanks @kevo for the Slow Fiction recommendation. Sound a bit like The Walkmen to my ears. Added them to my schedule 👍

Yeah, I can hear the Walkmen in them...

Agree it's a shame about Heartworms,
