[Food] Lose 7lbs in November

No progress for me yesterday (not going to bother posting the actual numbers more than every few days), presumably not helped by my misjudging the quantity of Yorkshire pudding I made for dinner and eating enough for about 3 people.
We had left over roasties and spare chipolatas and rather than just graze on them whilst washing up, I saved them for today.

Day 4: 86.25kg (13st 8lb) and 17.8% body fat.

That’s 0.25kg (1lb) down from the day 1 weigh-in, but up another 0.15kg on yesterday and up 0.6kg from my low in day 2.

I know there’ll be daily fluctuations, but I’m slightly miffed that I’ve spent the last 3 days avoiding all snacks between meals and have been on the turbo trainer 3 times in 4 days and my weight is almost back to what I started at. I guess day 2 was a bit of a false friend!

Will weigh myself on Friday as don’t believe you get much out of it daily unless you’ve passed the water retention window

Speaking of which I’ve upped my water intake so my body can start trusting me it will get a regular source so it can start discharging the multiple reservoirs I’m carrying.

Back on the protein shakes, porridge and nuts in the week now.

I’ve also changed my rep count at the gym and lowered the weight but increased the reps but ensuring I’ve increased the total output, will do me some good for a couple of months. Also will hopefully remove the pride element from lifting heavy as have picked up a few niggles this year which is clearly an age reminder

87.00 today, down 0.3 from 87.30 yesterday, just a couple less roasties yesterday and no snacking last night. Haven't been below 87 for a long time.

Day 3 complete. No snacking yesterday evening was a bit easier to achieve.

Feeling positive this morning and off to the shops following some good suggestions. Salmon, fruit, fresh vegs and a few other healthy items.

Good luck to all and hang on in there, anyone who is struggling.You can do this !

I am finding this the most motivating thread possible, great work everyone.
The NHS offering me the soups and shakes was the kick up the arse that I needed.

I said it earlier, it is very easy to make excuses NOT to do something, and very hard to actually make the decision to change!

Good luck to all those who are attempting to make hopefully beneficial changes.

12st 4lbs. Weigh and record every Monday morning and records show peaked at 13st 10lbs in 2019. Reckon I was 14st+ around 2017 before keeping records. Game changers: overnight porridge for breakfast, lunch/dinners comprising food your gran would recognise in green grocers, butchers, fishmongers, keep dinners/teas to small portions and plenty of exercise (building muscle mass v important). Allow treats but quality rather than quantity. This thread has motivated me to aim for and maintain weight in the 11 stone bracket.

That was something else I thought a lot about, setting myself manageable targets or goals.

When I started at 16st 9lb my overall target was to lose 2st, but before that I got in my head the idea of getting down to 16st. Once I reached the 16st mark I then aimed for 15st 7lb and then reset my target again, until I reached the magic (in my head) 2st lost mark.

According to the BMI index I need to get down to 13st 7lb to be in the "healthy range". When I read this 10 weeks ago I laughed and said, loudly "no bloody chance". Now, with setting myself small targets, this doesn't seem so ridiculous.

My November progress:-
Nov 1st - 14st 8lb
Nov 2nd - 14st 7lb
Nov 3rd - 14st 6lb
Nov 4th - 14st 7lb*

* day off, I blame my sister in law for her American baked cheesecake!!!

Love this expression. A great rule.of thumb.

Feel pretty positive, did well Friday, and Saturday, yesterday had a roast and did end up having some crisps and haloween sweets (of which there are enough to feed the entire north stand for a couple of weeks) however didn’t drink any alcohol which is great for me.

I am getting out twice a day for 30 min dog walks (including a steepish hill so coming home sweating) which is the big change for me.

Aside from that trying to fast overnight, 15-16 hours at the moment - will try increasing that as the month goes on.

Makes sense, having that mix of short and longer term goals. I’ve read a bit around weight/food, some argue we have a natural weight set point which makes sense as a ‘good‘ BMI index for me seems too low. I visualise myself wasting away and looking gaunt! I’ll lose a few more pounds and see how I feel/look.

My mother in law says I look "a bit thin", but I think I would rather look a bit thin, than a lot fat!!! :)
