Much appreciated, but please don't think I'm disheartened, far from it. I will stick with it, having weighed myself daily for over two years I know there's only a 52% chance I'll register a daily loss. For me, calorie deficit (with the unflinching support of My Fitness Pal) has worked better than anything else, so when I cram nearly 2000 more calories into me than I should do, I know to expect a weight rise. Today's also likely to be a gain day - empty nest syndrome kicking in for me and Mrs SE9. She has her cat and copious boxsets, I've got an afternoon of Soccer Saturday and more Stroopwafel to ease the existential horror of midlifery.Remembering that lots of that weight change isn't the food miraculously turning into body fat. You may have drunk more fluids, perhaps later in the day. Weight can be volatile day to day.
So don't give up. You had a big day, but today needn't be. Just a thought, don't measure calories. Just write down everything you eat and drink each day - I mean everything. It tends to make you far more aware, in the moment, of what you are shoving in your gob. I'll join you and do the same.
