Ground number 50 was Mile Oak for their SCFL 1 clash with East Preston

I lived in B&H for many years but somehow this was my first time here. It's quite a basic ground really even for this level. There's a small covered standing area on one side and most of the crowd were on this side then there's a small seated stand behind one goal.

I liked the walk up to the ground up a little path. It's £6 to get in

NO CLUBHOUSE THOUGH! The only catering facilities are a small tea bar near the entrance, which, despite luring me in with listing it on their price list, didn't have any Bovril

EP started both halves well but possibly the high altitude was too much for them to cope with. Mile Oak went 1-0 up with a scrappy corner and doubled their lead deep into the first half

In the second half it all kicked off when an EP player lashed out at an opponent with a very stupid attempted elbow off the ball which he got a red card for

Anyway a lovely sunny autumnal afternoon to bring up my half century for the year. 7 grounds remaining and I'm STILL yet to see a 0-0

Lower Bourne .Farnham
Shots 2 1 Eastleigh ,came back to win against a really horrible side to play .The Spitfires had won 9 of their last 11 visits to The Rec . Attendance 3200 with 349 away fans . Amusing watching the yoof away firm being escorted to the ground and my good mate laughing as they realised they are all in his class Monday morning

Hi @stewart12 ...excuse me asking but I just wondered where the Mile Oak ground Is in Portslade. Is it at the old approved school/borstal high on the hill? If it is I remember playing there back in the late 50s/early 60s for Patcham School. Dreadful in the winter especially with the early morning ko's. I should know as our first house was in North Road, Portslade Old Village from 1967 until 1972. If it is the Mile Oak ground I feel sorry for those that play there.;)

It’s at the back of Mile Oak recreation ground which is opposite PACA on Chalky Road.

Off the Cray Wanderers tomorrow for Ground Number 285, for Whitehawk's away game (I might even get another surprise appearance on the Twitter account), poor season so far for the Hawks, a good squad but just isn't clicking, like a revolving door at times, Whelpdale the latest player to move on, not quite clicked for him yet this season. Keeper situation has been complete chaos as well, 6th keeper of the season Will Huffer played on Saturday (Zaki Oualah, Max Foulkes, Jasper Sheikh, Josh Strizovic, Filip Chalupnizak (7th if you include Taylor Seymour)). I've always rated Will when I've seen him play for other local sides, so hopefully he sticks around for a bit.

Whelpdale played for Hill on Saturday. Desperately needed in view of the huge number of injuries we’ve got and he should do well at our level.
As an aside, RIP to Roger Puttick who was a legend at Hill and who passed away last week.

Whitehawk manager walked today . Replaced by his coach who’s previous job was doing a decent job at Lancing

Yeah famous last words in my OP, I liked Ross he was a nice chap, sure he will do well elsewhere but feel like he struggled with the league and the part time nature of it. We were clearly trying to play some nice football, but to play it well, you need consistent training, which you don’t get at this level.

In a pile of football shirts
Steynings still struggling a bit, 3-1 defeat away at Burgess Hill, it wasn’t as bad a performance as the score suggests, we’ve had some really good performances recently but just not scoring. Away at AFC Croydon tomorrow night.

Wolves away after Spurs is a real six pointer in the drop zone

About an hour into the 4 hour trip home from Torquay v Worthing.

Gutting result. We had enough chances that just weren't put away in the second half to get at least a point from that - how it goes with football sometimes. On the positive side, the last two performances have been the best we've put in this season, and things are really starting to jel now Aggy has what is looking like a settled Starting XI. Have looked much more positive since Colbran and Wheeler have returned from injury and bedded in as the wingbacks.

Thankfully NLS is looking a lot tighter this year with no one running away with the league right now. Hopefully we can return to winning ways back at Woodside against Slough on Saturday.
