We have a winner. And yes. It was odd. Very odd.
I'm struggling to think of any link between a twix and a foot

Surely it should be "feet like a Twix". There's 2 of them!?
I was in the South Stand Goldstone in the late 80s and some oaf in front of me directed some vitriol at one of our own players: "You stupid n*****". The bloke next to him then pointed out that neither the player in question, nor any other player on the pitch, was black.

Along the lines of the earlier comment on Isak, check out Bournemouth's Philip Billing's legs. Even Mrs Metal commented that they are very unlike a footballers. Very spindle like and devoid of the usual thigh muscle.

Then it must be one of our French-speaking players. "Doigts de pied" (foot fingers) is a common synonym for "orteils" (toes).
And yes, "big toe" is either "pouce du pied" (foot thumb) or "gros orteil".
We Québécois think that's really weird, too.
