Going by MOTD, a quiet SJP park for the last hour. What gives? Some NSC’ers informed us that Forest and Newcastle supporters were always amazing at home, the twelfth man, come rain or shine. If only we had that when struggling to get a result.

Went to the away game last year. 1-1. Thought it was quiet in comparison to what had been said of their atmosphere.

Never understood this saying… they are opposites… the saying used to be “firm but fair” or “hard but fair”. It is like “I could’ve cared less”. It doesn’t make any sense at all.
No offence, like.
My thoughts on the match:
- Brilliant finish by Welbz who just keeps getting better and better
- Veltman is the master of gamesmanship, it was interesting to see his antics frustrate Gordon and others
- Newcastle's Isaak looks like a totally different player from last season (i.e. last season he was a brilliant finisher, this game he was absolute garbage)
- Gordon looks over rated, which doesn't bode well for England
- Newcastle had a good spell in the first half but overall we were more than worth this victory. We had several chances to put this out of reach in the second half.
- It was frustrating listening to the commentators on Optus Sport, who were totally biased towards Newcastle, claiming they should have taken their chances and should have won the game, while not giving any credit to us.

We’ve had so many of these smash and grab 1-0’s and 0-0’s against us at the Amex over the years, and it feels like we rarely get them in our favour due to our possession style since Potter.
Welbeck was imperious today, but my MOTM was Verbruggen. He’s going to be one of the best in the world. He’s only just turned 22, so a baby in goalkeeper terms, but he has all the attributes to be elite.
