He's not a good loser is he?

Now the demographic catastrophe that he has presided over for a generation, will cause a dearth of future warriors. His solution: ban birth control for those he thinks should be providing Russia with those warriors. It's like something out of some far-fetched science-fiction movie. Dystopian doesn't begin to describe it.

Just a thought - an alternative solution might be to not aim for decades of confrontation with the West. Confrontation isn't obligatory.
Very dystopian 😬 he'll be starting baby farms soon, captive women, willing men, CCTV to see who's working the 60 hour week...

Re 17059... here's the size of that Russian jet drone shot down by friendly fire in an attempt to stop it crash landing in Ukrainian territory. It's huge 😲.

Interesting substack article from Phillips O'brien who is a geopolitical strategic professor/expert from St Andrews Uni.

Basically spells out Biden has given up and has no real plan re Ukraine, Trump would be a disaster but silver lining is that Harris may well be better/tougher than Biden?

Globally, its the most consequential election of our lifetimes Imho.

How the war in Ukraine bankrupted Russia:

TL,DR: Watch from 11.00 onwards. Russia had $56bn of its reserves left at the end of 2023. It's current war economy spend rate is estimated to be $4.4bn, per month.
If these figures are true, in theory at least, the money will run out in early 2025.

We've been ignoring Crimea, so here's a Bavovna from there, that forces Russia to declare an emergency...
Gosh. Wait. Would you believe it? It's on Putin's 72nd birthday apparently

As per Joe Blogs, he reckons it was hit by Storm Shadow rather than drones. He also included a photo confirming the facility had a Pantsir (=pants for short) air defense on its roof.

I remember it was mooted that the drone attack on the arms dump at Toropets (the angel of Toropets) on Sept 18, was to mask a hit from a Storm Shadow. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time, but the delay in deciding about long-range missiles does seem to have gone on for a good while.....

To date, as far as I know, there have been no specific accusations or escalations from Moscow yet, in return for Feodosia or Toropets.

Back to Joe Blogs, and he is keeping track of the decline in the exchange rate of the Ruble vs USD, currently about 1 Ruble = 1 US cent.
The reason is that he suggests that as the Russian reserves continue to decline, the Russian central bank will no longer be able to support the Ruble.
He tells us that Russia is now bartering, for example, oranges and potatoes for Iranian pistachios, in an effort to avoid settling bills in rubles which nobody wants. .

Watch this space for a currency crisis.

Interesting stuff there.
What a choice eh?... Shahed drones or pistachios...hmmm 🤔. At some point, the Russian people will demand 'pistachios'.

Yesterday was Putins 72nd birthday. There's been quite a few political assassinations that happened on his prior birthdays as "gifts" to the godfather.

Looks like a well known talking point of ours who became a vocal critic may have become his latest birthday present?

It's interesting how some people (like Strelkov) can lie (or join in lies) and deceive for years, but then it's too much for them and they start to tell it how it is. Some people can lie all their lives, others can't .
Such a coincidence he died on Putin's birthday...how small minded is Putin and his followers to focus on such irrelevant details.

'Why Russia is in more trouble than it looks' - a discussion with Michael Kofman, senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

It's rather good. I particularly like the bit about Russia being effectively salami-sliced across a host of thresholds or perceived red lines.

His death in prison was previously reported in February. There doesn't seem to be any confirmation that this most recent report of his death is any more accurate than the last...
