Same here. I didn't give a flying flamingo when Sunak went to Southampton. Fitting as they were relegated. If Starmer gets invited to Arsenal, it's really no big deal. It just isn't a thing. Unless you are a right wing rag. Tiresome.

Yeah I agree with this view.
Labour will be picked apart to a level the Tories would never be.

It was ever thus.

Starmer made a bit of a rod for his own back, by saying Labour were going to be whiter than white.
Daily Fail licked their collective lips when he said that.

Just to counter this, many times perfectly true factual stories (not editorialised heavily) are shared here and immediately mistrusted. I f***ing hate the Mail, but I’m not going to believe the Grauniad more if two both report the same story. It’s dolled up AP stuff in the main anyway

And today the Mail is reporting that Referees are complaining about the quality of food they are given at the Amex. Vindictive of the Mail or entitled referees expecting to be treated like Gods?

But they are being whiter than white. They've declared everything, and it's all within the rules. Unfortunately even that's not good enough apparently, while the billions gifted to the mates of Tories was fine according to the Mail.

I don't disagree.

But all the Mail wanted was the opportunity to report on every possibly dodgy arrangement and make implications.
Starmer gift-wrapped it and allowed time to be wasted on trivia.

He has a season ticket which he’s had for years. Why should other Arsenal fans lose their seats to accommodate the security?
It‘s easier for the Emirates to put him in a secure area.

Just to add, is it really hospitality to be in a secure box, or does it include a four couse meal, with the best wines? To me, hospitality is the latter.

why should any of them accept any gift, hospitality etc anyhow. It’s been pretty normal in most businesses that staff nit be allowed to accept a thing, even down to a bottle of something at Christmas in order to avoid bribery and corruption claims.

But still eh, one rule for the plebs and no rules for our masters with their snouts stuffed firmly at the bottom of troughs.

That was decent of him, why can’t free gear be more like him and buy his own glasses or better still refuse the freebies as perhaps it might come back to bite him seeing as he’s a high ranking Politician

“Offers of hospitality should be reported to the Chief Executive. Some examples of hospitality which should be refused are payments for lunch or dinner, and tickets to sporting or leisure events.”

Maybe he was worried he might offend Comical Ali should Victoria Freekit decline a new dress from him
