Yeah I mean... nothing is less interesting than hearing the opinions of a manager or player in between clubs. Possibly only worse hearing people like Neville, Keane, Carragher, Shearer and others who don't understand football well enough to work at the highest level. I'm thinking "MOTD" is filled with both those kind of people and that there's nothing to learn from watching it.

Most of them know more about football than you

Echoing so many comments on here, what a 2nd half performance and so many players worthy of mention but giving a quiet shout out to Enciso as well, after wondering where his career with us had been heading really positive to see him come on and put in a shift, worked tirelessly up front running the ball down and when he had a great chance he laid the ball off to Gruda who was in a better position, great to see and have high hopes for him again!

Why have people got obsessed with the high line thing? Again, neither goal today was because of the high line.

They could have scored in the first minute because of our high line though, and we look extremely vulnerable because of it. We can't just ignore the frailty on the basis that Spurs fluffed the chance.

Only just realised we played to the 'wrong' ends. Presumably Spurs' choice.

Also, in all the scaring the cat / Mrs Bodian with the winner - don't think I appreciated just how good Welbeck's header was. Brilliant.

We were and oddly the same happened in the last game we came back from 2 goals down. Charlton in 2015 if you were wondering.

What a day. just got in from the Amex via a walk in the rain down to the Brighton Dome and a superb gig from Joe Jackson.

Chap across the aisle from me in his Brighton top and others came in who had been to the game first.

It was never in doubt :)

How was Max Champion?
I'm going to Cambridge on Tuesday.

It was amazing. I listened to the album a couple of times before going and thought OK, go with it. It's proper music hall stuff ... amazing 9 piece band + Joe Jackson. Great intros from JJ re back story and what the songs are about etc. Just like being at the theatre.

Some people left early - maybe not knowing what they were going to get. They missed out big time in my view.

I saw him on his Jumping Jive tour in Poole in 1981. Not many turned up for that but I loved it. He's a truly great performer.

Enjoy ... I'm sure you will.

Have seen his last few tours.
The (fairly) recent Duke Ellington one was really good

I think Enciso would have been another victim of RDZ demanding perfection.

Really? I thought Enciso looked like he didn't care, closed down half heartedly and wasn't bothered to chase the ball. Was very disappointed in his lack of effort, my daughter loves him and was pointing out the times he just gave up instead of closing down their players. Totally the opposite to Rutter who ran tirelessly.

Funny old game eh? Opinions, like anal openings, everyone's got one.

For sure but how often are they talking about football and how often sensationalist bullshit?

Gone backwards under this idiot. Nothing will change
Rutter is absolute garbage.
Minteh really is pony! Should be no where near the starting ix at the moment!
This manager hypia mark 2 total and utter dog shit and shit tactics
Minteh is totally useless
Relegation beckons.
I cannot get over how much we paid for Minteh, he's terrible.
Positionally we are all over the place

This isn’t going to end well
It did
We're going down with the Palace....
No we’re not, even if we’d lost today
40 million! For 40 million I would expect a very good player. He isn’t and shows nothing.
What on earth did the algorithm machine see in him ?
Aging well!

We look terrible. Defensively all at sea, its piss easy for Spurs.

+ Minteh £30m and can't control a football.

Getting to point I'd take Potter back tbh
Even Steviewonder can see FFS. For the second week in a row, I've stopped watching. Fab will either change the system or we'll be heading further in the same direction.
You missed an amazing second half
Come on then lads.

Lets win the second half 3-0

And this is only a handful of the more embarrassing posts, Mackenzie excluded.

Well done on making it on the wall of shame

As for my own assessment, glanced on here at half-time expecting soaking wet sheets and naturally that was the case.

We weren’t great (but nowhere near as bad as the usual suspects were making out) - but the game was wide open and we had lost the midfield, essentially.

Joe Hart (who knew he’d make such a good pundit?! Some really good insight) summed it up perfectly on MOTD2. We were basically a yard off the whole time, right down to the goalkeeping.

Pervis’s introduction changed the game, no question in my mind. An excellent substitution.

Objective fans could see we had a couple of good chances, but realistically could’ve been a few goals further down.

What we did in the second half was won the mental fight, a fight we were losing heavily with several knockdowns in the first half.

Mitoma was outstanding all game.
