I’m just waiting for someone like Zeb or similar to suggest now is the time for a Politics Sub forumSurely it's now time to merge this thread with the Labour Party Meltdown incoming. Difficult to keep monitoring things with split discussion.

Goodbye.
I really do not see what my location has to do with anything; I have a vote, which on it's own is enough to be able to 'tubthump'....I also have enough interest and interests in the UK to want it and them looked after by a competent UK government. That's bullshit, but don't let truth or accuracy get in the way of your long distance, don't even live here tubthumping.
Special advisors are 'temporary civil servants'? This is what is stated from looking up a few websites regarding the inner workings of government. I'm not suggesting wages are comparable or whatever, just that her status is not as definite as saying she is not a civil servant.@WATFORD zero seemed to think Sue Gray was a civil servant too.
She hasn't been for 18 months now.
Your comparison is about as valid as comparing Sue Gray's salary to that of a Premier League footballer.
Spads are 'temporary civil servants' and are paid by the civil service. Have been since Blair@WATFORD zero seemed to think Sue Gray was a civil servant too.

I think Sue will soon be finding out that she is far more temporary than she had realised.Spads are 'temporary civil servants' and are paid by the civil service. Have been since Blair
Why do people need to announce they are going to ignore someone, it’s utterly hilarious, rather childish and very much “look at me” just put them on ignore ffs!3 trolling posts about me one after the other.

You don't deny your post was bullshit then.I really do not see what my location has to do with anything; I have a vote, which on it's own is enough to be able to 'tubthump'....I also have enough interest and interests in the UK to want it and them looked after by a competent UK government.

Are civil servants politically neutral: yesSpads are 'temporary civil servants' and are paid by the civil service. Have been since Blair
I'm not convinced that there is no merit at all, in comparing the jobs of an advisor to the government on a permanent contract and an advisor to the government on a shorter contract, both paid from the same source. I think there are points of comparison. Are civil servants politically neutral: yes
Are Spads politically neutral: no
When a minister leaves a department, do the civil servants remain: yes
When a minister leaves a department, do Spads remain: no
When there's a change of government, do civil servants retain their jobs: yes
When there's a change of government, do Spads retain their jobs: no
Spads are not civil servants by any reasonable definition.
They are temporary workers. Freelancers. Contractors.
Which is why your comparison of Sue Gray's salary to that of other civil servants has absolutely no merit whatsoever.
No, I stand by my statement your thread was started as a thiny veiled vehicle for your anti-Labour views....I just chose to ignore your reply. You don't deny your post was bullshit then.
You are wrong. So it's it's not a statement, it's a slur and an online falsehood disguised as an accurate or factual statement which it isn't. It's just you jumping to a conclusion that fits your personal narrative. Not anything thinly veiled or anti Labour. It was intended as a pulse check for how people were feeling on a daily basis. Much as you and others initially responded. I thought it would be an interesting dialogue over the years before the thread got hijacked, renamed and merged. No, I stand by my statement your thread was started as a thiny veiled vehicle for your anti-Labour views....I just chose to ignore your reply.

You never know when to stop digging do you...A statement is a definite or clear expression of something in speech or writing. My post ticks all these boxes, it's clear, it's an expression and it's in writing. I think you may therefore be confusing 'statement' with another noun?
As for the rest of your post, my statement is clearly an opinion (opinions can be statments). Do I really need to explain this?

This looks likely to continue?Accepting free stuff is definately as bad as cutting services in the name of austerity.
