I really do not see what my location has to do with anything; I have a vote, which on it's own is enough to be able to 'tubthump'....I also have enough interest and interests in the UK to want it and them looked after by a competent UK government.
Special advisors are 'temporary civil servants'? This is what is stated from looking up a few websites regarding the inner workings of government. I'm not suggesting wages are comparable or whatever, just that her status is not as definite as saying she is not a civil servant.

I'm not convinced that there is no merit at all, in comparing the jobs of an advisor to the government on a permanent contract and an advisor to the government on a shorter contract, both paid from the same source. I think there are points of comparison.

You are wrong. So it's it's not a statement, it's a slur and an online falsehood disguised as an accurate or factual statement which it isn't. It's just you jumping to a conclusion that fits your personal narrative. Not anything thinly veiled or anti Labour. It was intended as a pulse check for how people were feeling on a daily basis. Much as you and others initially responded. I thought it would be an interesting dialogue over the years before the thread got hijacked, renamed and merged.
A statement is a definite or clear expression of something in speech or writing. My post ticks all these boxes, it's clear, it's an expression and it's in writing. I think you may therefore be confusing 'statement' with another noun?
As for the rest of your post, my statement is clearly an opinion (opinions can be statments). Do I really need to explain this?

Doesn't matter what any of us I think, the Government defines them as Civil Servants and has done for the last 15 years.
Look up my posts on Spads and you'll find I agree with a lot of what you say, and was equally pissed off when the papers were reporting civil servants being at the various parties when they were actually Spads. And this has been over a large number of years, long before Starmer and Gray arrived a few weeks ago. But they are paid by the taxpayer and are there are four Civil Service pay grades for Spads
Meanwhile, there has been a major drive by Government to get Civil Servants on to 2 year renewable contracts, so Ironically, we have a situation where some spads are lasting far longer than some Civil Servants.
