Canada could have an actual problem on their southern border. Is Trump wins could we see Americans seeking political asylum in the UK?
Not really the same thing, but my UK friends who emigrated said they are coming back if Trump wins.Is Trump wins could we see Americans seeking political asylum in the UK?

Not ‘asylum’ as such but many of my American relations (and UK ones with a green card) are already making plans to move (move back) to the UK if Trump gets in - they have already applied successfully for dual nationality. Is Trump wins could we see Americans seeking political asylum in the UK?
So HIGNFY is the one UK show I absolutely miss the most. Apparently this is the fourth attempt at a US version, but none of the previous versions have got past a pilot. CNN has apparently ordered an initial ten episode run of this:
‘Comedy thrives in dark times’: is the US ready for Have I Got News for You?
Long-running British comedy is getting another attempt of American version, starting at a difficult political momentwww.theguardian.com
First episode dropped on Friday:
It wasn't great, and certainly nowhere near as good, but it had some good moments. I hope it will improve as the host and the captains (and the guests, and the viewers) get more comfortable with the format (so they don't need to explain every round before the round starts).
I will say I absolutely hated the theme music, which is weirdly like the original theme that has been filtered through AI to make it "distinct". Also not sure why they made the half hour original into an hour long show? But then the UK did the same thing with their latest version of Jeopardy! So...
Also, Trump will absolutely hate this show. If he picks up on it and complains of "Truth" social about it, I'm sure CNN are hoping that it will absolutely blow up.
That's pretty much what Richard Osman said when this was mentioned on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast - that they don't get the concept of TV quizzes and gameshows being purely for entertainment, and they can't understand why people take part in such shows without a meaningful prize or celebration of the winner.American's are too competitive to be funny. As soon as the four images came up they tried to guess the answer as quickly as possible to win the points without giving a single thought to saying anything funny or entertaining. I give it eight episodes max.
That's an interesting thought. Perhaps that's why, in one change I immediately noticed for the original, they don't have a score on each teams desk and Roy Wood Jr made it pretty clear that he wasn't keeping score at all. I wonder if that was a decision made in the hopes on impressing on the teams that the objective here is to say something funny. Nobody cares who wins.American's are too competitive to be funny. I know as much as my (American) Wife and I have enjoyed The Great British Bake-Off (aka The Great British Baking Show in the US for trademark reasons), she was a bit baffled that the prize at the end is a bunch of flowers and a glass plate. That's pretty much what Richard Osman said when this was mentioned on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast - that they don't get the concept of TV quizzes and gameshows being purely for entertainment, and they can't understand why people take part in such shows without a meaningful prize or celebration of the winner.
They'll have to...build. that. wall.Canada could have an actual problem on their southern border.

He wants to change the rules so he effectively stays in power for longer than two terms, no?I'm not sure it'll do that much harm to the US. He obviously wouldn't do anything good or useful, and the poor people who put their trust in him would be let down (he'd obviously blame others), but his main focus would be on looking after himself and his money. After 4 years he'd have to go, and America could start to rebuild any damage he did.
The bigger concern would be Russia/Ukraine. That's not so easy to fix when Trump fucks it up.

A leaf out of the book of his mate Vlad.
Comedy gold...Trump, the gift that keeps on giving...
