There's no point trying to logicise supporter's whims. Many of the reactions we have are based on tribal, visceral feelings as @Justice intimates. Part of the fun can be the medieval act, baying for blood (not literally!) from the terraces and seeking a scapegoat. Supporters are often illogical, there's no changing that.

You are all very harsh.

The guy did so much for us. He followed money and an opportunity to coach at a club that at the time was showing signs of being a big European club again.

We can’t forget all that he put in. It’s not as if he joined Ned as an Academy player and we rescued his family from oblivion.

If he was the right coach for the job, then get him in.

He still lives here doesn’t he? He clearly loves the place.

If there was the right role for him, absolutely. It doesn't have to be a coaching role.

I may be wrong but I feel like he did a lot of work on the community side of things. A role incorporating that would be great.

I thought I read that he was told there was no guarantee of a job under De Zerbi when he came in? In which case, if you had the certainty of a job elsewhere then of course you would go.

We do seem a little light in terms of numbers on the coaching front. (In comparison to De Zerbi’s team)

Anyone know our actual first team management setup including coaches etc..

This is the sensible and correct answer. If the club genuinely feel that there is a job somewhere in our setup that he can do and that no one else reasonably can, then yes, he can come back tomorrow. We'll let bygones be bygones, and he can play his role in helping to take us forward.

As in most things I shall 100% trust the club's judgement. I'm sure they won't re-appoint him just because he was once 'el capitan'.
