I thought he was Finnish...O'Riley doesn't need a work permit. He's English!

Tbh, I can't remember if I watched Turkey! If I did, I didn't clock Ferdi, or wasn't aware of our interest in him.Not a criticism, we can't all watch every football game - but did you not watch Ferdi in the Euros? I can't get enough of the WC and Euros (until we're knocked out, at which point I become a moody child).

I certainly noticed him. I remember thinking that a top PL team should be going for him, as he looked excellent. I never dreamed it would be us.Yeah I had no idea we were interested in him, but I did notice him. I barely missed a game, except for the third games where teams were playing at the same time.
No - still 3 days left to get a deal done. Positive it will happen even if does take until Friday. Are we supposed to panic as the top of every hour passes? One is approaching.

No he doesn't need a work permit. His Dad is English and he was born in England, he played a few games for England U21s then probably realised he'd never get into the senior team. So as his Mum is Danish he switched to them. Will need international clearance from FIFA as he's now registered as Danish plus he's moving to a different country.O'Riley doesn't need a work permit. The international clearance comes from the Scottish FA not FIFA (although it is their rule process that has to be followed). It has nothing to do with a players nationality, it applies to any signing where the player, regardless of nationality, is moving from a club affiliated to one national FA to another. No he doesn't need a work permit. Indeed, here is the filing: https://www.kap.org.tr/tr/BildirimPdf/1328323 Seems to say only that we are in talks to sign Kadioglu though.Fenerbahce have announced to the KAP (whoever that is) that the transfer is done.
This also applies for any football where there are registration rules. For example, a Dutch guy joining a county league time will need this. The international clearance comes from the Scottish FA not FIFA (although it is their rule process that has to be followed). We even need it when signing players from clubs like Swansea and Cardiff as they are under the Welsh FA even though they play in an English league.
As a side note we may have already got clearance for O’Riley as he’s on the clubs social media arriving for todays game wash bag in hand.
I wonder if something has been lost in translation as surely we are far more advanced than starting negotiations.Indeed, here is the filing: https://www.kap.org.tr/tr/BildirimPdf/1328323 Seems to say only that we are in talks to sign Kadioglu though.

That's a good sign, that you and @ Gwylan both noticed Ferdi, while neither of you were aware of our interest in him. He stood out.Yeah I had no idea we were interested in him, but I did notice him. I barely missed a game, except for the third games where teams were playing at the same time.
It will be announced Pre Creepy match surely?Sky Sports are getting excited by this transfer.
It’s close now.
We shouldn’t rule out a pre-match announcement!
