Nope, and no one does that when it comes to some other club signing Greenwood. But like you could see on Getafe and Marseille fans, a particular type of not too uncommon brain set sail to the mission of justifying and excusing the new star coming in. A handful of people would almost certainly "suffer" from this... flexible brain. Less so here than in many other clubs given the values of Brighton, but still - people would die on the "maybe he's a better person now" hill.
You can see the same phenomena among fans getting bought by oil states etc. Everyone calls it dirty when it happens somewhere else, but once the idea of title races and CL and stuff settle... "Flexible brains" will get to work.
Perhaps Greenwood chose France as they have a more ambivalent attitude to rape than the UK. There is a tendency towards victim blaming and an acceptance of men being unable to control their urges. It's harder to get justice as a rape victim in France. It's also where Roman Polanski has found a safe haven for the past 40 years despite an interpol red notice. Even some high profile women have spoken out against the MeToo movement, so it's not just a male chauvenism problem

Doesn't matter. Still sacked in every way but a technical one. Just like Graham Potter - technically speaking a team would need to pay Chelsea compensation to hire him. Same goes for hundreds of other sacked manager.
No one leaves the PL for Ligue 1 unless they're sacked.
