I cancel my Netflix membership for 6 months or so each year then restart it for a few months to catch up on things I want to watch. Saves me a lot in subscription fees! Just started watching Departure.

Wondering what your thoughts are?
First episode I was taken aback and left with a state of wow I need to watch these all back to back straight away.
Second episode I’ve just finished watching and that felt like it dragged even though it was 15 mins shorter in runtime - didn’t really add anything to the story so far, and was a huge disappointment compared to the first episode.
Just about to start episode 3 so hopefully things improve from here

Exactly the way to use all streaming services I think.
All of them only have a few weeks of anything good on in total over a year.

What is with the obsession with filming all in one take?
It adds nought to a film / program.
Anyway, had to switch off Adolescence after the first 0.5 seconds as it had the very loud sound of someone biting and chomping an apple in the opening moments. Ugh.

I disagree. The interactions with the schoolkids caused a few pennies to drop in piecing the whole case together and also gave a better insight/background into the victim, the accused and those close to them.
I love it – thought it was really clever (it's the first time I've seen it done) and makes it almost like a play. I also played the game of seeing where the actors either forgot stuff or had to ad-lib. For me, it made it a bit more real. Although it can make you feel like you're on a roller-coaster a bit and I also get the eating thing. Must be horrible if you don't like it.
Anyway, Mrs B and I watched the whole lot in one go last night and I was blown away by it. Stunning performances by pretty much all the cast, especially Owen Cooper. It must've been good because at the end I turned to Mrs B and she was in bits – and that never happens to hear watching anything! Simply stunning TV.
Stephen Graham is a SUPERB actor – as well as a creative talent (and his Mrs).

Me too. Watched episode 1. Brutal. I couldn’t binge it in one go though… too much.
Just finished watching The Leopard, which was excellent. I saw the Visconti film, with Burt Lancaster and Alain Delon, many years ago but can only vaguely remember it. However, watching this series, you can see why it appealed to Visconti, lots of opportunities for shots of stunning Italian architecture and over-the-top costumes.
I remember studying the risorgimento for my history O level, so I had a basic knowledge of the historical context. And there was a lot of Verdi in the soundtrack - which is always a plus

Glad I bailed.
I just binned off Netflix and Prime. In part, because of trying to get rid of US based services, but also because there really isn't much in either of them I'm interested in watching right now.
I might come back to it when there's a new series of Black Mirror but I'm certainly not missing it.
Apple TV is the one I dip in and out of the most. I'll resubscribe for a couple of months to watch a couple of shows (e.g. now I'm watching Severance and just finished 2 others) then I'll get rid of it for 6 months or more.
