Bent isn't an International player though as has already been proved. Zamora deserved a chance, he wasn't likely to make the squad but to not include him in the 30 is a bad call imo. (as well as Carragher)

barry doesn't need to be "tested", if he's fit he can just fit straight into the team, whereas zamora would HAVE to have been looked at before the first game, and, as he needs an operation, he'd miss the warm up games, and would therefore be a MASSIVE gamble for the 23 man squad

therefore there's no point

How have you come to that conclusion?

Heskey and Rooney work. Their partnership (for England) is IN FORM. Their partnership got us to the world cup. Where is the logic in playing an injured, untried, less physical centre forward after his first good season in 7 years in his place?

Defoe and Bent are BOTH in the squad and deserve to be.

Zamora isn't because he isn't fit and isn't good enough.
