Cant remember the game but we had a minutes silence and i was in the north and during that someone shouted out "why don't you f*** off back to Barnet Codner" quite amusing.

I remember that!

Funnily enough, I was thinking pretty much the same question the other day and I also came to Codner as my least favorite player. I would never back our players being booed by our own fans but Codner, whilst undoubtedly talented, did not help his cause by his lack of effort. I have never seen a more disinterested player on the pitch.

I remember Codner being interviewed just before the 91 play off final and him saying "The wide open spaces of Wembley will suit my passing game, I'm not sure how the others will cope" which sort of summed him up really.

Leon knight, and this is when he was playing for us, not because of twitter!
Worst Brighton player I have ever had the misfortune to meet. No one compares to when I met bobby:thumbsup:

I too support all our players regardless.

However, the player who frustrated me the most consistently was Dean 'Wendy' Wilkins.

Ok, he will always be forgiven for his last minute wonder free kick that got us into the 1991 play offs but he was quite simply the biggest pansy I have ever seen in midfield.

He was the complete opposite of his brother Ray Wilkins. If Dean could dodge a tackle in order to keep his hair nicely set then he would.

I struggle to think of any one I disliked (I actually remember liking robert codner). Not because I'm a superfan, but because I tend not to really grow attached to players, given the fluid nature of teams, and that seems to work the other way too. They may be bad, but no point wasting energy disliking them because they're either the best we can get, or they will go when we get better. I don't think there's anyone that has had me worried whenever they are in the team, simply because it's them.

I wasn't too fond of Wayne Henderson, I didn't like how he would make a big game costing mistake, come out after the match, hold his hands up and apologise, then go and make the same mistake in the next game. I didn't like how he had to have 12 bad games before McGhee would drop him, yet his replacement only needed one bad game to be dropped.

Well done superfan
Do you travel to every away game on the coach & wear a blue & White rosette
Come on you must of had one player you thought was a cock

Nope, there are quite a few that have been shit, but none I genuinely dislike.

Why would I, they are genuinely trying to do well for my team.

I think a lot of people felt that way about Wendy. Long before that Ipswich free kick he mysteriously had some kind of reputation as a specialist in that department, and yet in his entire career, I can only recall THAT free kick, and one more. Two really isn't a great return for your set piece maestro, is it?

And of course he tackled like a six year old Brownie, wearing ballet shoes.

Vicente.

Will always support him on the pitch as he is the best player I have ever seen play for Brighton, but it infuriates me so much with his long spells on the sidelines and the wages he wastes during that time. Also, there is always a major saga about his contract which I'm sure will once again happen this year with Gus feeding us hope that he will re-sign.

Mickey Thomas for me. I hated the way he played the game and is probably the first player I can recall being aware of cheating and diving. I hated him playing against us for Wrexham and then Utd and was genuinely disgusted that we signed him and that was before he even kicked a ball for us.

As for berating Wilkins because he avoided a tackle what's that all about. He was more in the mould (albeit not the same calibre) as Hoddle rather than the tough crab like Ray Wilkins. He should have scored considerably more from set pieces but his corner kicks were the best I have ever seen from an Albion player.

I take it you haven't followed the club for that long!!! There was only one saga about his contract which, as I see it, was down to the club and wrong messages being sent out by Gus. Yeah the guy has injury problems which we should have been aware of when we signed him (and probably were) but we took a punt on him. I doubt there will be a big saga this year as there is no obligation or options on either party as there was last year.
